A third of the people living in Canada do not have dental insurance. And in 2022, one in four Canadians reported avoiding visiting an oral health care professional because of the cost.
Delaying care can have wide-reaching impacts, including more expensive treatments and worsening health outcomes.
The Government of Canada announced the roll-out details of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a significant milestone for the health and well-being of people in Canada.
The CDCP will help cover the costs of oral health care for up to 9 million uninsured Canadian residents who have an annual family income of under $90,000.
