A Meaningful Milestone

In just 17 months of being open, Oak Osteo has now passed 1,000 sessions. That’s over a thousand opportunities to support better sleep, ease pain, calm anxiety, improve digestion, and help people feel more at home in their bodies.

As a solo practitioner building something from the ground up, this is the kind of early momentum any small business hopes for. I’m grateful for every person who has walked through the door, trusted the process, and given their body the chance to respond in its own way.

Here’s to continued growth—slow, steady, and centered on care.

So, here’s a little behind-the-scenes moment for you. At the end of your session, when I ask, “Do you have any questions?” and you hit me with the classic, “What did YOU feel/notice?”… my brain does a little somersault. 🤸‍♂️

Picture this: I’ve just spent the last hour in full-on detective mode. I’m out here feeling millimeter differences, tracking temperature changes like a human thermometer, assessing density like I’m judging a soufflé, and tuning into tension like a June-Bug to your porch light. My hands are basically doing a full-body MRI, but with more ✨vibes✨.

And then, in the last 2 minutes of your session, you ask me to summarize all of that into a neat little soundbite. It’s like asking someone to explain the entire plot of Inception in 10 seconds. 😂

So, here’s the deal: I love that you’re curious! It shows you’re engaged and care about what’s happening in your body. But just know, if my answer is a little scattered or I pause for a second, it’s not because I didn’t notice anything—it’s because I noticed so much and I’m trying to figure out how to condense it into something that makes sense to your non-osteopath brain. (No offense, your brain is great. It just doesn’t spend all day thinking about fascia.)

So, keep asking! But also, feel free to hit me with, “What’s the TL;DR version?” and I’ll give you the highlights reel. 😎

And hey, if you’ve got more questions about what I’m feeling during your session, or if you’re curious about how osteopathy can help you, let’s chat! I’m here to help you understand your body better and keep you feeling your best.

Thanks for letting me nerd out on your tissues. You’re the real MVPs. 🙌

Tips and Tricks to Embrace the Change of Seasons

Sync with the Sun
Begin your day by catching the first rays of sunlight. Let the warmth touch your skin and gaze into the distance. Afterward, enjoy a warm glass of water and take a moment to move gently, allowing your body to awaken naturally.

Savor Seasonal Nutrition
As we prepare for the colder months, focus on consuming local seasonal produce. Apples, plums, and a variety of vegetables like potatoes are perfect for nourishing your body. Try making a pie, or roasted dishes to enjoy these flavors. Remember to listen to your body’s needs, and introduce new foods gradually to ensure they agree with you.

Be Mindful of Temperature Change
While warm days can lead to cooler nights in the early fall, it’s important to avoid leaving windows open or using fans as the temperature drops. Cold drafts can lead to discomfort or illness, so keep your environment cozy as night falls.

Ground Yourself
As the winds pick up and the cold settles in, it’s crucial to stay grounded. Nourish yourself with warm, comforting foods and drinks like herbal teas. Whenever possible, spend time in nature—touch the earth or wood to reconnect and stabilize.
