-Trauma is anything that happens too much, too fast, too soon, or not enough for your nervous system to handle.-

1 in 3 mothers experience birth trauma—but so many stay silent, wondering if what they went through “counts.”

It's common to downplay your own experience
to think it “wasn’t that bad,” to push it aside, or to tell yourself to just move on. But birth trauma is real, and it’s more common than you might think.

-Trauma is anything that happens too much, too fast, too soon, or not enough for your nervous system to handle.-

Let that sink in.

Birth trauma can happen during pregnancy, birth, or the postpartum period—and it doesn’t always look like what people imagine. It might be physical pain, emotional distress, unexpected complications, or even feeling unheard or dismissed during your care.

It can affect birthing parents and non-birthing parents alike — and like any trauma, it can show up through emotions 😱, thoughts 💭, physical symptoms đŸ«€, or behaviors that don’t seem like “you.”

You’re not alone. Your experience matters. And healing is possible. 💗

This right here!

The 1000% reason I am shifting to primarily supporting twin/multiple parents.

Twin parenting is not something anyone can relate to UNLESS you’ve lived it too. Yes you can understand some parts of it, but until you actually live it
surround yourself with twin parents are know your struggle!

And/or hire a doula that is a twin parent, has passion for twin parents and just loves supporting through all twin avenues including the POMBA world đŸ„°

There’s something special about having twin mom friends.

The ones who just get it without a word.

They understand the chaos of double feedings, double diapers, and double meltdowns.
They know the exhaustion that hits different when two babies need you at once.

They’ve cried over the same guilt, questioned the same decisions,
and celebrated the same tiny victories that only we truly understand.

They don’t flinch when you show up late,
with spit up on your shirt and one sock on.
They don’t judge when you vent about how overwhelming it all is.
They’re in the trenches with you, and that kind of sisterhood is rare.

Twin mom friends are the ones who remind you that you’re not crazy

you’re just outnumbered.

Everyone knows that I am not a doula for any other reason than having a passion to support folks. I’ve been reading this card over and over and tears run down my face over and over. 🐙I love what I do 🐙and continue to dream that I can do this for more and more families💛

No one really talks about how emotional it is to wean your baby.

You spend so many nights dreaming of the day your body gets to be yours again.
You tell yourself you’ll be so relieved when the feeds slow down, when the cries for comfort aren’t always tied to your chest.

And then one day, without even realizing it, you have your last feed.
And it’s quiet.
There’s no big moment.
No announcement.
Just a shift.
And suddenly, it’s over.

You feel proud of how far you’ve come.
You feel free in a way.
But you also feel like you’re saying goodbye to something sacred.
Something only you and your baby shared.

Weaning is one of those silent goodbyes in motherhood that no one prepares you for.
So if you're in it, or nearing it, hold your baby close.
Soak it all in.
Even the hard moments.
Because they are so, so temporary.
