Mindset changing journal prompt for this week: “Drifting”
✍🏼
. The meditative state we can often find ourselves in by the water is one of the best natural stress relievers. We forget the worry and hustle of the demands in our life. The unrest. The pressure. The never ending lists. We have to return though. It’s a temporary relief. A healthy one. And maybe a productive one if we allow ourselves to rest enough that the jumble in our head figures itself out while we drift. There are other activities, other than being near the water, that can produce this effect. Do you have that relief somewhere, sometime, somehow, in your day? I encourage you to find it. Maybe it’s a body of water out in nature but maybe it’s something else. Find it.
Each week a new prompt will be available to ponder and journal on.

Mindset changing journal prompt for this week: “Are your daily thoughts and actions the building blocks to a grounded life, or are they vulnerable to the next passing storm?”
✍🏼
A fixed mindset is one that’s built on precarious footing, on limiting beliefs that hold us back from building a life of growth and change. A growth mindset is able to develop strong roots; knowing you are not perfect and there is always room to grow. This mindset stands against the storms life can throw at you because you’re solid in who you are. You trust your instincts.
Your daily thoughts and actions are building your tomorrow. Are they built around a or a

A new survey is here - and your story matters. The Nova Scotia Mental Wellness Survey is inviting residents to share experiences with mental health, substance use and gambling. Your insights will help shape policies, services and support systems that truly reflect our communities' needs.

Led by Cape Breton University’s (CBU) Sam Hodder and powered by a partnership between Nova Scotia Health, CBU and the Office of Addictions and Mental Health, this research is about building a healthier, more resilient province.

The insights we gain will help inform programs, policies, and services that reflect the real lives of our communities.”

"As urban populations climb, quantifying how much greenery keeps minds stable could shape zoning codes as powerfully as traffic engineering ever did."
🌳 Let's hope so.

A quick read looking at NatureScore impacts.

People living in areas surrounded by nature and greenspaces have dramatically lower rates of most mental health maladies.

Mindset changing journal prompt for this week: “I say “I’m fine” but I am anything but fine. Fine is the funeral of truth. Fine is the easiest way to isolation. Fine is a lot of things but it is not me.”
✍🏼
How many times in a week, in a day, do we answer with “I’m fine” “Doing fine, thanks”…when we are anything but fine?
What if for a week, for a day, we were more mindful of that lie? More honest. What if we were courageous enough to stop betraying ourselves and the wounds we hide with those words, “I’m fine”? What if we stood on the edge of vulnerability and spoke the truth? Where could that lead us?

Mindset changing journal prompt for this week: “What choice can I make this week that reflects who I want to become, and not who I have been?”
✍🏼
You are allowed to change. Our past can shape the context to our story, but we can determine the course we take, and every day we wake up with the ability to change the direction. In what ways do you wish you could shake “I’m not that type of person…” because of where or who you’ve been in the past? What choices could you make this week to start to reflect a You that is outside your regular identity? Can you speak up when you’d normally stay silent? Eat the nurturing food even though you’re used to the comfort food? Treat yourself with kindness even though you were never met with any as a child?
Look to nature and see what reflections you can see where Nature made a choice to move toward growth. A tree that shifted in order to reach the sun. A flower that still bloomed even when conditions were harsh.
Reflect. Rewire. Renew. Keep growing.
Each week a new prompt will be available to ponder and journal on.
