To our wonderful patients;

As healthcare professionals and doctors, we have always followed the highest standard of infection prevention and control practices at Main Street Dental Team. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we implemented enhanced precautions to keep our patients safe and smiling. These enhanced safety measures ensured zero transmissions in our office despite having seen hundreds of patients since reopening, following the spring closure period.

Following today's announcement from the Government of Ontario regarding the updated lockdown measures for York Region, we wanted to clarify for our patients that the announcement does not affect the operation of our dental office. In alignment with our health and dental authorities, we will remain open for your dental health care needs.

Looking for a dentist in Unionville? Worried about visiting the dentist due to COVID-19? Clean air is one of our priorities here, so we have proactively brought in medical grade air filters and certification of air exchanges from a professional HVAC engineer, near maximum levels according to the RCDSO. While these measures may not be necessary, we want our patients and team to feel as comfortable and as safe as possible during their visit. Please message us if you wish to come and see us!

We're not allowed to see you for regular visits just yet, but our Main Street Dental Team has made some changes to ensure that everyone can seek dental treatment in a safe and comfortable environment. We've worked hard in order to take the necessary steps to comply with, and exceed current guidelines in Ontario, in addition to our high standards of infection control pre-COVID. Here are just some of the things we have done:

- Plexiglass in the reception area

- Each treatment room is equipped with medical grade HEPA filters with near
maximum air flow certified by a professional engineer

- Barriers between each treatment room

- Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) has been secured including N95 masks, face shields, protective gowns, and safety goggles

We would like to update our community that the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) has expanded their recommended scope of treatment during this time to include urgent care in addition to dental emergencies. We continue to address our patient’s dental concerns over the phone and by email. For situations that cannot be addressed remotely, an in-person assessment may be required as long as it fulfills the criteria set out by the RCDSO in the guidance above.
