A wedding doesn’t make a marriage…but this day felt like a vow to our life.
Built with intention, held in a place that carries our history, and shared with the people who feel like home.

I’ve always believed love isn’t something you fall into, it’s something you stand in. A choice you protect. A life you build. A truth you grow inside of without losing yourself.

This wasn’t the beginning of our story. It was our promise to carry it forward with clarity.
What a gift. What a life. What a forever. 🤍

Forever grateful to the incredible people who brought this day to life with heart, soul, and so much talent.

They’re largely genetic. You can’t always prevent them, and they have nothing to do with how well you take care of your skin. When the skin is stretched faster than it can adapt, the underlying collagen and elastin architecture reorganizes in a way that mimics a scar.

Treatments that focus on rebuilding and re-stimulating collagen (like combining microneedling and biostimulators) can help to restore density and improve texture. These treatments don’t erase stretch marks entirely, but each time we remodel collagen, the results are permanent. Over time, those incremental gains can be transformative.

Stretch marks are not something to be embarrassed about. They’re a record of growth and change. But if they affect your confidence, come see us for a consultation at Philosophy MD.

And yes, the face popping through the back of my green screen in this reel is not a ghost… just my Halloween cameo 👻

Last week we opened our doors for another Intro to Injectables event because when it comes to your face, you deserve more than a price list and a hope for the best. You deserve to understand the science behind natural results.

We covered:
• The biomechanics of facial aging
• The truth about neuromodulators beyond TikTok myths
• When filler is helpful and when it is not
• Biostimulators and long-term collagen health
• PRP and regenerative strategies
• How to build a safe, phased plan that protects your features

We host these complimentary sessions because a clinic that invests in education invests in outcomes. Natural is not a lucky guess. It is a clinical strategy rooted in anatomy, precision, and restraint. When you understand the why, choosing the what becomes easy.

This is aesthetic medicine done with intention. Education first, always.
Because this is how natural becomes inevitable: informed, thoughtful, and expertly guided. 🖤

If your toxin “isn’t working like it used to,” it’s almost never because you’ve become immune, and switching brands won’t fix it.

Here’s why ⬇️
💡 The active molecule (the part that actually relaxes muscle) is identical across all brands.
💡 The accessory proteins that differ between brands? They fall off the moment the product is mixed with saline — they’re inert and clinically irrelevant.
💡 What does matter: dose, dilution, interval, and technique.

True “toxin resistance” happens when your body forms neutralizing antibodies to the active molecule, and it’s extremely rare in cosmetic use (we’re talking a fraction of a percent).

So if results fade faster or seem weaker, the culprit is usually:
✨ Suboptimal dosing
✨ Muscle adaptation
✨ Technique variation or timing

In other words: it’s not the brand — it’s the plan.
The right provider will assess your anatomy, strength, and goals to fine-tune your treatment every time.

We used to think the best thing for a scar was to leave it alone.

Now we know early, gentle intervention helps the skin heal stronger and smoother.

Here’s what actually helps (and what doesn’t):

✨ Silicone scar tape or gel is the gold standard. It keeps the area hydrated, reduces tension, and helps scars stay flat and soft.
☀️ Sun protection is essential. UV exposure can permanently darken scars. Use SPF 30+ daily; physical filters are best.
💆🏻‍♀️ Gentle massage, once the skin is closed, can soften adhesions and help collagen align properly.
💧 Hydration matters. Scars remodel best in a moist environment. Simple ointments like petrolatum or Aquaphor outperform most “miracle creams.”
💡 Targeted treatments such as vascular or fractional lasers can calm redness or improve texture, and microneedling helps mature scars remodel.

If you’re prone to keloids, medical treatments like corticosteroids or even dilute neuromodulators can help flatten and prevent recurrence.

🚫 What doesn’t help:
Vitamin E oil (high allergy rate), over-massaging, exfoliating too soon, or “letting it dry out.”

The takeaway?
A scar’s outcome depends on how it heals, not just that it heals.
Start early, stay gentle, stay consistent.

The neck is one of the first places collagen loss becomes visible.
As the skin thins and muscle activity pulls forward, fine lines and crepiness appear — often outpacing the face.

The Gold Protocol is a regenerative approach that addresses all three layers:
• Biostimulators to rebuild collagen and elastin
• Hydrating hyaluronic acid to restore luminosity and suppleness
• Neuromodulators to soften muscle activity and banding

By targeting the structure, surface, and movement, we can see dramatic improvements in crepiness — even after a single treatment.

Not a filter. Not filler. Just science applied beautifully.

Last week, I had the honour of speaking on behalf of at two educational sessions for healthcare professionals (South and Mid Island) on the evolving science of Sculptra and the future of regenerative aesthetics.

With over 20 years of clinical use, Sculptra has long been recognized for its ability to restore volume gradually and naturally. But the science continues to advance: new research highlights how poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) can influence gene signaling, stem cell behavior, and fibroblast activity, activating the body’s own regenerative pathways to rebuild the dermal matrix from within.

My talks additionally explored Sculptra’s emerging role in two fascinating contexts:
⚕️Patients using GLP-1 agonists, who often experience rapid changes in facial fat distribution and skin quality as part of their metabolic transformation.
⚕️Perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, where shifts in collagen metabolism and hormonal balance present both challenges and opportunities for regenerative treatment.

These are areas where biostimulatory injectables like Sculptra may help bridge physiology and aesthetics, supporting both structure and confidence through times of profound systemic change.

The “Sculptra glow” is the visible outcome of cellular renewal: fibroblasts working, collagen rebuilding, skin remembering how to be resilient.

Deep gratitude to Galderma Canada for the opportunity to share this evolving conversation about science, self-image, and the next chapter of regenerative medicine.

Not all antifungal shampoos are created equal 🧴✨

Here’s the science:
• Ketoconazole was designed as an antifungal, but research shows it does more than calm dandruff. It has a secondary effect of reducing dihydrotestosterone (DHT) activity right at the follicle. DHT is the hormone most strongly linked to androgenetic hair loss, and blocking it locally helps reduce shedding and preserve density.
• Selenium sulfide (often mentioned in the same breath) doesn’t have this anti-androgen effect. It’s great for flakiness and seborrheic dermatitis — but it won’t help your hairline.

Think of ketoconazole shampoo as a “two-for-one”: fights dandruff and gives a mild boost against hormone-driven shedding. It’s not a standalone cure, but it can be a smart adjunct in a hair loss plan.

Did you know? UV gel lamps used in nail salons emit UVA rays, which can pe*****te the skin and cause damage. Regular exposure during manicures can lead to premature aging, dark spots, and an increased risk of skin cancer on your hands.

Tips for Protection:

Bring Your Own Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen to your hands before any hand massage during the manicure.
Wear Fingertip-less Gloves: Consider wearing gloves that expose only your nails, protecting the rest of your hands from UV exposure.

Your hands deserve the same sun protection as your face! ☀️💅🩺
