Hospice Northwest Services Making Moments Matter Hospice Northwest is a hospice without walls. We define hospice as a philosophy of care, rather than a place.

Hospice Northwest: A Leader in Providing Caring Companionship

At Hospice Northwest, we strive to help our clients make every moment matter by offering comfort, support and a sense of connection to families and clients who are dealing with a life limiting illness or struggling with grief. Our specially trained palliative care volunteers provide emotional and spiritual support for clients and their

families in their homes, hospitals or long-term-care facilities. Hospice Northwest is honoured to serve approximately 350 end-of-life clients and their families each year. Hospice Northwest is a not-for-profit charity, managed by Executive Director, Communications Coordinator and Manager of Client and Volunteer Services and governed by a dedicated volunteer board of directors. We comply with all current principles of palliative care service, and collaborate with other palliative care providers in Thunder Bay and District to ensure an effective, holistic approach to client care. At Hospice Northwest, we help you make every moment matter.

Words matter when someone's world is falling apart. The right ones create space for grief. The wrong ones can shut down connection exactly when it's needed most.

Small shifts in language can be the difference between someone feeling seen in their grief versus feeling like they need to manage your discomfort about their grief.
