July is Bereaved Parents Awareness Month. 💜

At our hospital, we recognize that the loss of a child leaves a lasting impact. For every parent carrying invisible grief, we want you to know: you are seen, you are supported, and you are never alone. Our Perinatal Bereavement Program offers compassionate, specialized care to families navigating this unimaginable loss. This includes:

➡️ Inpatient support at the time of loss
➡️ Virtual and telephone one-on-one support
➡️ Coordination of the Hospital Burial Program

We are here to ensure no family walks this journey alone. This month, and always, we hold space for your grief, your love, and the life that was.

For the first time, our hospital now has its own Electrocardiograph (ECG) machine! This a critical tool for diagnosing heart health, especially in women whose symptoms are often less recognized and harder to detect. 🫀

Until now, staff had to borrow this life-saving equipment from other departments. But thanks to generous community donations (and a remarkable $24,500+ donation from the Sandra Schmirler Foundation) patients at our hospital will now face fewer delays in diagnostics, and receive the timely, dedicated care they deserve.✨

Today is 💜

This day is a time to recognize and honour those who have faced cancer—their resilience, their challenges, and the ongoing realities of survivorship. It’s not just about survival—it’s about acknowledging the physical, emotional, and mental toll the journey can take, and the strength it requires to keep going.

We also extend our gratitude to the caregivers, families, and communities who offer unwavering support. Today, we stand together in reflection, recognition, and solidarity.
