Today’s hot humid 5k was more of a mental exercise than a physical one.
✅I kept reminding myself that I’ve done difficult things before (gaining perspective)
✅I started tapping in to memories of the times I had achieved this distance (and further) before (resource state)
✅I reminded myself that I didn’t HAVE TO do this, I WANTED to do this, it took the struggle away (choices)
✅I reminded myself that this was good for my health, which is important to me (values)
✅I tapped on to my future self, being proud that I did this today (future pacing)
✅I decided I was going to do it (single minded decision)
