Physios need physio too!

Grace climbs regularly and had a nagging pain in her quadrilateral space. Lisa and Beth found her teres minor underworking and her subscapularis overworking. Beth released her subscapularis and activated her teres minor. And Grace’s pain was gone!

We’ve been using our weekly inservice time to apply our NKT skills to treat each other. And why not? Self care important as health care providers.

Getting our soccer player back on the field after a foot injury.

1. Single leg pogo jumps
2. Heel hovers
3. 4x4 single leg jumps (try this it’s pretty tricky!)

🤓 Which ankle did our 11 year old soccer player sprain?
Both are quite mobile despite using the wall for support. Hint: the sprained ankle is avoiding pain at the end range and overcompensates in the last rep.
Research suggest that ankle sprain in youths have increased across the past decade, particularly among non-contact related mechanisms. Highest sports-specific rates in girls/boys basketball, girls soccer and boys football. This study pointed out the importance of prevention efforts in proprioceptive and balance-training programs.
