I used to assume that if a tea said organic, it was automatically clean.

No questions asked. No second thoughts.

But after digging into testing standards, sourcing practices, and what “organic” actually covers (and what it doesn’t), I realized something unsettling:

Some of the most popular “organic” tea brands still test high for things many of us are actively trying to avoid.

And most consumers would never know.

Organic certification focuses on how ingredients are grown, not always on:
• heavy metal contamination
• mold and mycotoxins
• pesticide drift
• supply chain transparency
• batch testing and disclosure

If you drink tea daily for calm, digestion, hormones, inflammation, or nervous system support, this matters.

I wrote this post to break down:
• what organic really means in the tea industry
• where the gaps are
• what questions to ask before you buy
• and how to choose tea that actually supports your health

This isn’t fear-based.
It’s informed, empowered, and long overdue.
