If you've considered a water birth, in general, your options in Simcoe County and York Region are 1. With a midwife and 2. At home only. Our communities hospitals don't allow or have the facilities (birth tubs) to foster water birth wishes. will set up a birth tub at . We'd love to see this option available to clients in other hospital rooms throughout our regions, since we know that water birth is comparable to land birth with regards to risk factors for both newborn and birth parent. And water as a comfort measure in labour can be effective and, to be frank, a game changer! Choice is best. We love to see a diversity of choices in labour. (See link below for scientific review 👇🏼)
