Super easy homemade body scrub:
🧂1 cup of salt
🫒1-2 tablespoons oil (aim for good quality).
🥀 Optional: a few drops of essential oils
✨If you have it - add some herbs. I had lavender.

🫙Mix it and place in a glass jar.
Please don’t use plastic when possible 🙏

🍎1-ingredient apple sauce:
Wash apples of choice thoroughly (I use Gala apples in season).
Chop and core.
(For us keeners, use the core for making ACV)
Place chopped apples in a pot.
Add a little bit of water.
Cook on medium high heat until soft and mushy.
Blend until creamy.
(Can add some cinnamon powder if you like)
Place in clean jars.
Refrigerate until using (not for too many days though…)

Uses of apple sauce:
🫙Simply eat it with a teaspoon
🥚Replacement of an egg for vegan baking
🧁Substitute oil for baking
🥣Sweeten yogurt
🍞Over toast
🌰Top with granola

Got lavender? Here is one option to make with it 💜

Lavender Syrup :
1 cup of fresh or dried lavender flowers
2 cups sugar
2 cups water

Place water and sugar in a pot and boil until sugar has completely dissolved.
Add the lavender flowers and stir. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 30 minutes for a stronger lavender flavour.
Strain buds and save the syrup in a glass jar or bottle.
Keeps in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

Lavender Lemonade:
In a litre jar, place 3-4 cups of ice, 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 4 tablespoons of lavender syrup and top with still or sparkling water. Adjust the sugar and syrup to taste.
Optional - garnish with lemon zest and a few sprigs of lavender

Eating seasonal and local produce provide us with so many benefits!
➡️ It doesn’t get fresher than that
➡️ Nutrients are at their highest when the fruit is fully ripe.
➡️ Better for the environment
➡️ More cost effective
➡️ Freezing fruits on your own ensures you are freezing a full fruit and not extra water weight added by companies to earn more money per pound..

If you have the ability and space, you can enjoy some delicious and flavourful summer fruits in the winter by freezing them at their peak.

❄️I am fortunate to own a deep freezer that allows me to do that. I freeze cherries and blueberries every summer so I can enjoy them all winter long.
