We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to help find a new owner for a beautifully restored 1932 Ford 4-door Sedan to raise funds for CDHF. The exquisite car was recently donated to the Foundation by Patricia Walker, in honour of her husband Tom.

This remarkable gesture reflects not only Patricia’s commitment to healthcare in our region but also pays tribute to Tom’s legacy and their shared love for the Cowichan Valley. It was wonderful to have Patricia at our office for some commemorative photos along with friends and special guests. We all enjoyed hearing stories about Tom’s adventures with the Ford, and Patricia was grateful for everyone joining us. Thank you Patricia for your generous donation.

On Sunday, hundreds of “Deuce Coupes” and other pre-1952 Fords were on display in Victoria at the car show. Thank you to Matt for taking the car to the show. It was a pleasure for our CEO Naomi to join BC Health Minister Josie Osbourne, along with Cowichan Tribes' Chief Cindy Daniels, and elected officials from across the Cowichan Valley as they toured the new hospital construction site recently. Progress is impressive, with nearly 900 workers on site daily, moving the project forward. The CDHF Lunch Box food truck is helping to keep those workers fuelled, with all profits from food truck sales supporting our equipment campaign for the new hospital.

It has been an incredible year, and it's thanks to you.

Our Foundation took on our biggest ever fundraising challenge; we held wonderful and meaningful events attended by our community; and we were supported by individuals, businesses and organizations from across the Cowichan Valley. As well as the funds we are raising for state-of-the-art equipment for Cowichan's new hospital, your support ensured essential medical equipment for CDH and for Cairnsmore Place, as well as staff appreciation for our amazing CDH and Cairnsmore teams.

We had a wonderful day on Monday at our CDHF Donor Appreciation Open House and BBQ! Thank you so much to all the supporters who came along to enjoy a burger, learn about the new hospital and chat all things Foundation. We are extremely grateful for all the donations recieved - nearly $21,000 in total - which will be doubled thanks to our current donation match campaign.

It was an honour to recieve a cheque presented by Peninsula Co-op for $100,000 towards equipment for the new hospital. 👏
