April Fools 💉 It’s not the needle you think! The first is a cannula we use for certain types of dermal filler. Tox is done with a very fine, very tiny needle. Most patients are surprised by how easy and (mostly) painless it is.

Message me if you’ve been on the fence and I’ll walk you through it!

I’m not just a nurse injector. I’m a nurse practicing aesthetic medicine.

Cosmetic treatments are medical treatments, and they deserve to be treated that way.

That means anatomy. Assessment. Safety. Clinical judgment. Intention. Education.

This work is not about blindly following trends or doing more for the sake of more. Yes, aesthetics can create beautiful results. But at its core, it is still medicine.

Thoughtful consultations, individualized treatment plans, knowing when to treat, and knowing when not to.

That’s the standard you can always expect at Tides 💙

MORE tips for treating the neck at home ⤵️

One mistake I see in aesthetic medicine focusing on the face while neglecting the neck. The skin on the neck actually ages faster, so we don’t want to wait until signs of aging are already showing before we start treating it.

In addition to in-clinic treatments like neuromodulators, microneedling with PRP and skin boosters, your at-home habits matter too.

→ invest in and use a quality LED red light

→ stop constantly looking down at your phone - it can make tech neck lines worse over time

→ bring your skincare all the way down your neck, and even onto the chest

→ and always wear SPF, since it’s one of the best ways to protect your skin and maintain your results!

The best strategy for treating the neck is one that supports the skin, strengthens it and helps you maintain those results long term!

This is why full-face assessment matters ✨ Supporting the structure around the concern can give a more natural and balanced result.

By restoring volume to this patient’s midface, we were able to indirectly soften the under eye area and improve the appearance of nasolabial folds (without overfilling where the concern shows up most).

〰️ Treatment: dermal filler in the mid cheek

〰️ Time: 45 minutes

〰️ Pain: mild

〰️ Longevity: ~up to 24 months

〰️ Downtime: no strenuous exercise for up to 24 hours

〰️ Healing: some swelling or bruising may occur in the first several days

Those horizontal lines across the forehead are often one of the first signs of repeated expression and can start to linger even at rest! A quick treatment relaxes the muscles responsible for those creases, softening their appearance and helping prevent deeper lines from setting in.

〰️ Treatment: neurotoxin in the 11’s, forehead + crow’s feet for a balanced result

〰️ Time: 30 minutes

〰️ Pain: minimal if any

〰️ Longevity: ~ 3-4 months

〰️ Downtime: stay upright for 4 hours post-treatment, no exercise for 24 hours

〰️ Healing: results in 7-14 days
