There are so many lessons hidden in plain sight in a snowy forest. Available to each of us, if only we listen. Maybe the forest floor could hold the stress you have been carrying. Or the river that still flows amidst the cold could hold your tears. The glistening snow reminding you that there are glimmers and joy, amidst the cold and dark. The quiet of deep snow asking you to join in the surrender of rest.

We will be witnessing these lessons and taking cues from nature at A Winter’s Retreat: Rest, Nourish, Restore 💆🏻❄️ This transformative 3-day weekend retreat is focused on rest, nourishment and sustainable wellbeing and is the perfect opportunity to truly tune inward.

You will leave with a personalized self-care plan with tools to integrate this wellness into your daily life. See you there? 😊

✨ Special pricing is still on for accommodations, AND there’s yurts! PLUS, a portion of the retreat may be covered by your insurance — DM us and we’ll send you a sample invoice to check. A few participants have had this retreat fully covered! ✨

We’ll gather from January 31, 2025 in the evening to February 2, 2025 in the afternoon at near Midland, Ontario with .little.zen.msw facilitating!

The “new year” can bring about many feelings about who you should be or what you should be doing or what you should change. The “shoulds” can get us stuck in this pattern of feeling like we’re not doing enough. The reality is that we’ve done enough this year, whatever it has looked like for you individually. 💙

Change, transformation, growth doesn’t happen overnight and it doesn’t need to. January 1 is nothing more than a reminder that we can always begin anew. And that new beginning can be one of rest, of slowness, of focus on and prioritization of YOU. As you are. 🌀

We hope you have a restful few last days of 2024 and can flow into this new year with the same sense of rest and ease. May you ponder what seeds you’d like to sow for yourself. Then, we can truly emerge and bud come spring. 🌟

We have several upcoming offerings to help guide you through these times. Check them out via our profile link! 🧘💙

Soul Session: Welcoming the New Moon
December 30, 7-9 PM

Step into stillness and intention as we gather beneath the energy of the new moon to welcome the approaching new year.

Join Zenia .little.zen.msw and Julie for this 2-hour embodied practice that blends gentle asana yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation—inviting you to reflect, release, and create space for new beginnings.

After practice, stay a while—sip tea, connect in community, and let the experience gently settle into your being.

Begin the new year rooted in clarity, presence, and soft intention.
All are welcome.

“Somatic” is a word that you may be hearing a lot right now in the world of holistic wellbeing and healing. We wanted to offer some clarity on what it actually means and practical ways it can help you reconnect and grow.

True healing begins with the body. So often, we get caught up in our thoughts or stuck in emotional patterns, forgetting the body’s role in holding and processing our experiences. Somatic practices invite us back into connection with ourselves—where healing and growth naturally unfold.

Somatic simply means “of the body.” At its core, it’s about slowing down, tuning in, and noticing what’s happening within. Through gentle practices like breath work, mindful movement, and body awareness, we can explore the connection between physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts. These tools help us notice what’s holding us back, release what no longer serves, and find grounding in the present moment.

In our workshops, retreats and one-on-one sessions, somatic practices can create a safe, supportive space to heal at the root. They invite you to feel more present and embodied, allowing you to work through challenges and reconnect with your natural sense of wholeness. Somatic practices are an anchor in our work here at The Embodiment Lab.

But somatic work isn’t just about healing—it’s also about growth. When we clear space by letting go of what weighs us down, we open ourselves to possibilities. The body is a powerful ally, offering wisdom, clarity, and strength as you move forward in alignment with your values and intentions.

Healing, rooting, and growing all begin with reconnecting to your body. These practices support you in living fully and intentionally.

We are always happy to chat about this if you have questions about somatic healing. 💙✨

7 TYPES OF REST ~ When you think of rest, what do you think of? It’s likely most of us think about physical rest first or maybe mental rest, but did you know there are actually 7 distinct types of rest? 💆🏻‍♀️

✨ Physical
✨ Mental
✨ Sensory
✨ Creative
✨ Emotional
✨ Social
✨ Spiritual

We invite you to take a moment and reflect on your desire for rest. Does it flow beyond physical rest? How can you bring more rest into your life in this area? ✨

If this is something you feel you would like to explore more or would appreciate support on, send us a DM! We are also hosting a retreat at the end of January 2025 that largely focuses on rest and how to create a sustainable self-care practice for yourself. We hope you’ll join us!
