✨Divination of the Day✨
We are taking care of our inner child- when we start to meet those needs, we can stop the criticism, both internal & external.
Criticism: the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes.
It’s interesting too- last week I learned about triggers & the arousal cycle & stress responses. When we have a trigger (also called an ‘activation’ these days, because now even the word trigger can create a stress response due to its association to the feeling), we undergo a chemical reaction to a stressor- regardless of whether that is an external event or an internally created event (as in, is it our thoughts and feelings based on a previous experience in childhood or the past that is re-creating the stress response or is it a literal moment of danger that is occurring?). More often than not, we are not actually experiencing a life or death event, it is a re-creation of a past emotional event that caused us pain, and we are biologically wired to avoid things that cause us pain or distress. When we take the time to contemplate why we are becoming activated when certain situations occur, we can take the time to reparent ourselves consciously & without judgment or criticism. To take care of our emotional needs and to be kind & compassionate with ourselves first & foremost. Be understanding.
