❤️ Love is a Journey, Just Like Travel ❤️

TRIP Update: In the world of love, there are more paths than you can possibly take. You may be heading one direction, just like I did in my recent travel adventure, but love leads you to unexpected destinations. 🌍💕

After some extra, unplanned days in the Bay Area, our original plans to head south didn't quite align. Instead, we embraced Plan B, a completely different direction. 🛤️

I've only been to wine country once before, so it was a true luxury to have most of a week in Sonoma County. Healdsberg, a charming town in the heart of wine country, exceeded all expectations. 🍷

Punching above its weight, Healdsberg offered an array of exciting activities, a vibrant town square with bustling markets, live performances, and an abundance of wineries, all within walking distance. 🎶🍇

Just as love takes us on unique journeys, my trip was an unexpected adventure. So, to all my fellow seekers of love, remember that even when plans change, beautiful destinations await. Keep your heart open to new possibilities. 💖✨

The the spooky season started early: it's enchantment was upon us this weekend. It's hard not to get excited about costumes, creativity, and the prospect of magical encounters. But it can seem like a lot of work to scare up an outfit and find something fun to do 🧙‍♀️🌟

🌟 Trip Update: Exploring Love & Hometowns 🌟

The San Francisco Bay Area is one of my favorite places in the world. I studied at Berkeley (many moons ago!), and it was a formative time for me. The diversity and quirkiness of the Bay Area left a lasting mark.

As luck would have it, my husband grew up in the Bay Area. So this trip was about learning from the little things: the route he took from school to his house, the parks he played in, the boating expeditions he did with his dad on rented leaky canoes from Chinese prawn fishers. It gave me a vantage point I'd never have gotten as someone who spent her 20s in a nearby college town.

We had planned to stay just a handful of days, but the Universe conspired to push the next leg of our journey back. I'm not mad to have gotten a few extra days in this magical part of the world! ✨🌉

For me, love blossomed a bit later in life. I longed to wake up next to someone who truly mattered, and now, I revel in that.

TRIP UPDATE: 🌟 Love, Resilience, and Cherished Moments 🌟

Being a late bloomer in love has taught me the value of dedication and the importance of understanding what it takes to nurture a relationship.

I had the privilege of attending a joint memorial for my husband's parents. They shared a love story that spanned over 70 years, and in their final moments, their love was as vibrant as ever. It was a love that truly stood the test of time.

Their journey reminded me that love has its own timeline, and I was fortunate to find it later in life. While I won't have the privilege of celebrating 70 years together, I consider every day with my perfect match a cherished gift.

I'm on a mission to make the most of every moment and ensure our love story is filled with intention, purpose, and happiness.

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving! 🦃. I am grateful for a lot of things, but especially for
💍 marrying the LOML (love of my life) one year ago today!

I felt like a lost cause, destined to be single forever. I had to really get clear on what I was looking for. I'm so glad I did that work because it paid off-- and I know how important it is , which is why I coach singles to find a long-term partner.

Trip Update: CALIFORNIA!!!
You can get stuck looking in the same places and overlook gems: such is the case in Love and in travel.
I stayed several days in Laguna beach. I knew it only by name. I fell in love instantly: quirky public art, varied and whimsical architecture, a lovely center of town, artists everywhere, and endless beaches. Plus, it's walkable (a rare quality for California towns)
What is surprising is that Laguna beach is only 30 minutes from where I went to high school. I had no idea what I'd been missing.
This is reminder of how we can overlook great opportunities in familiar places. It's about opening up and trying things out.

Trip Update: From Flagstaff, we made our way west as fast as we could through the hot stretch of dessert. We didn't beat the weather! 🥵 Thank goodness for air conditioned hotels with nice views!

Singles: even well considered plans will need re-visiting in your search for love, kind of like when you are on a road trip. 🔄

Laughlin was hot!! 🌡 The highest temps recorded in the US for that day were in that area! We ditched out plans to check out the waterfront and play slots in favor of leaving early to avoid driving through death valley in the middle of the day. It paid off to do that. Next Stop: LA.
