We’re looking for community members who want to play an active role in shaping uterine health research. Whether you have lived experience, support someone who does, work in a related field, or simply care about improving uterine health in our communities—you’re welcome here.

As a CAG member, you’ll meet with us online 2–3 times per year to share your perspectives, review study ideas, give feedback on materials, and help guide how we communicate our research. No research background needed—just curiosity, interest, and a willingness to collaborate.

If you’re passionate about improving uterine health and want to contribute to meaningful change, we’d love to have you on board.

Happy International Women's Day 2025!

In STEM, women are breaking barriers and leading transformative discoveries. At Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI), women from diverse backgrounds and career stages are challenging the status quo, bringing unique perspectives to research, and uplifting one another to succeed.

Through the inaugural VCHRI Summer Program Advancing Research Knowledge and Skills (SPARKS) program, mentors and mentees - including Dr. Aline Talhouk and Navindi De Silva from the Uterine Health Research Lab - have come together to redefine what’s possible in science.

Visit https://www.vchri.ca/stories/2025/03/03/uplifting-next-generation-women-science to learn about the power of mentorship and community-building in shaping a brighter future for women in STEM.

In Canada, endometrial (uterine) cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy, with an estimated 8,600 new cases diagnosed in 2024. Obesity is one of the leading risk factors for endometrial cancer, with those having a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30 facing a threefold increase in risk. But how does obesity increase risk, and what can be done to lower it?
