"6 months from skin removal surgery and I am still so grateful to my surgeon for his expertise and knowledge. After losing 150lbs on my own with diet and exercise, I was left with a lot of loose abdominal skin and tissue. I was experiencing back pain in my fitness endeavours and was dealing with chronic swelling of the loose skin and tissue. I was uncomfortable and I was being held back by something I could not work off.
It takes a special surgeon to take on a client as active as me. This surgery wasn't just about removing the leftovers of extreme weight loss, it was about getting my body to a place of functionality and strength. repaired my abdominal muscles, making them stronger and giving me the ability to recruit them more readily. As a distance runner, spin instructor and lifter, I am so grateful to be six months out and actively teaching and training at an elevated capacity pain-free and strong
Aesthetically, you wouldn't know that I had that much tissue removed, or even that it was there. My clothes fit well, my scar is low and flat and my abdominal definition is starting to come in nicely too!
Six months feels like a long time ago and I continue to be in awe of my body and all of the things she has provided for me thus far, with a little help from my surgeon"
