I was so glad to be present for this family during such an important time. Here's what this amazing mom shared about having my support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum:

Finding a doula who speaks Spanish was much harder than I expected, so when I found Mirian, it felt like such a blessing. From the very beginning, she made me and my family feel supported, understood, and safe — something especially meaningful since Spanish is my first language and my mom doesn’t speak English.

Mirian not only guided me through every stage of pregnancy and birth with so much knowledge and calm presence, but she also took the time to translate and explain everything to my mom. That allowed my mom to be truly present and involved in the experience, which meant the world to both of us.

During labor, Mirian was my anchor. She knew exactly when to step in with comforting words, massage, or breathing cues. She helped me feel grounded and strong when things felt overwhelming. She was also an incredible advocate, gently communicating with the medical team, my partner and my mom, and making sure my voice and preferences were always respected.

After birth, her support didn’t stop. Her visit and messages gave me reassurance and guidance when I needed it most.

I’m endlessly grateful to have had Mirian by my side. If you’re looking for a Spanish-speaking doula who truly cares, you won’t find anyone better.

🇧🇷 Gostaria de compartilhar todo apoio que recebi da Mirian. Ela se doou à minha gestação e entregou o melhor de si nesse tempo que me acompanhou. Mesmo sendo meu quinto parto, ela não hesitou em me auxiliar em todos os detalhes e preocupações, como se fosse o primeiro. Fez questão de entregar todo o conteúdo para que não ficasse nenhuma dúvida para trás. No dia do parto tudo aconteceu muito rápido, e ela prontamente se doou mais uma vez, estando comigo e com meu marido. Ao chegar no hospital com o bebê quase nascendo, me senti pronta quando ela chegou no estacionamento comigo e começou a me conduzir. Tocou nos meus ombros e foi falando diretamente aos meus ouvidos com uma voz tranquila e calma, me direcionando no que devia fazer. Foi essencial, pois não falo inglês e não conseguia entender o que as médicas estavam pedindo para eu fazer. Por fim, nos presenteou com o carimbo da placenta e esteve conosco mais um tempo para que pudéssemos descansar. Após o parto, me ajudou com todas as dúvidas que foram surgindo em relação à amamentação e cuidados com o bebê.

🇨🇦 I'd love to share all the support I received from Mirian. She gave herself fully to my pregnancy and offered the best of her care during the time she accompanied me. Even though this was my 5th birth, she didn’t hesitate to help me with every detail and concern as if it were my first. She made sure to share all the information I needed so that no question was left behind. When the big day came, everything happened very fast, and once again, she gave herself completely, being right there with me and my husband. As we arrived at the hospital with the baby almost being born, I felt ready when she met me in the parking lot. She placed her hands on my shoulders and began speaking softly and calmly into my ears, guiding me through each step I needed to take. It was essential, because I don't speak English, and I couldn’t understand what the doctors were asking me to do. Mirian’s presence was my anchor. In the end, she gifted us the placenta print and stayed with us a while longer so we could rest. After the birth, she continued helping me with every question I had about breastfeeding and baby care.

While you can’t control everything, making informed choices and having support makes a big difference!

A doula can be a game-changer in these moments. Whether it’s a smooth delivery or things don’t go as planned, a doula provides continuous support, emotional reassurance, and practical guidance. She can help you navigate unexpected changes, communicate with your medical team, and find ways to stay calm and empowered. *The Power of Perseverance: A Birth Story*

Some births leave a lasting impact not just on the families but also on those who support them. Sophia faced a long and challenging labour with steadfast strength and determination. Her resilience was really inspiring, and I feel honored to have been by her side through it all. I’m grateful for her kind words and for being part of this wonderful birth and postpartum journey. "I met Mirian through a recommendation from an friend and from our first conversation I immediately connected with her. My experience was wonderful!Throughout my pregnancy, my husband and I received a lot of information, support materials and very complete and detailed conversations about what I was going through and what to expect during labor and postpartum.

Close to my due date, Mirian kept in constant contact with me, asking for information and wanting to know how I was doing. I spent more than 20 hours in labor at home, focused on having my birth as natural as possible and Mirian was by my side during the whole time, supporting me and telling me that I could do it. Just a little reminder about the benefits of having a doula with you during labour and birth, and even beyond. Remember that most doulas will be alongside you during pregnancy and postpartum, so you can have support and a beautiful experience during, probably, the most important time of your life.

Evidence shows that having a doula can lead to:

✨ Less need for medical interventions, including C-sections
✨ Reduced use of pain medication
