Dear Family and Friends of GCCH,
After 30 years of dedicated service, our CEO Jutta Purchase will be retiring at the end of this month. We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Jutta for her exceptional leadership and many contributions to GCCH, and we wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.

We are grateful to announce that Michael Neumann has been appointed as the new CEO of the German-Canadian Benevolent Society of BC. Michael brings extensive experience in long-term care, senior living operations, and project development, and is honored to lead the organization through this upcoming transition and the redevelopment of the care home building.

We look forward to this next chapter and thank you for your continued support.

Happy new year!

We would like to share our next outreach event:
Udo Erasmus has researched this topic extensively, has written books and articles and will give us a fascinating insight into the world of fats and oils and their effects on our health. The lecture will be held in English.

Please note that our program starts as usual at 2:00 PM. We will serve coffee, tea, and something sweet. The program begins at 2:30 PM.

Thank you for your donations, which help cover the costs of coffee, cake, and other expenses.

This nomination is a great achievement as it recognizes our commitment to quality, compassion and excellence in the continuing care sector.

Thank you to all our sponsors for donating exciting items and experiences for this year's Christmas Fest.

The support of our community is greatly appreciated. We were able to offer a unique variety of auction items to start the Holiday Season of 2025. From restaurant gift cards, tickets to sports games and concerts, and home decor to hotel stays and entire cottages - thank you for coming together to raise funds for seniors in need.

Tomorrow, we will dedicate an afternoon to German literature. There will be a variety of German poetry - from classical pieces to short stories.
Furthermore, we will have lots of books, CDs and DVDs to give away. You might possibly find a special Christmas gift in our collections.
This will be the second to last outreach program in our current building at 2010 Harrison Drive.

Our Oktoberfest Celebration is three weeks away!
It will be a lighthearted evening with dancing, food, drinks and live music.
The S-Bahn Band () will perform that night - bringing a little piece of German-speaking countries, including Switzerland and Austria to Vancouver with their very own Alphorn.
