I was thinking about this for long time, especially when so many festive seasons are around.
We often judge ourselves too harshly, comparing our lives to idealized versions we see around us.
We compare our today with who we once were or with the edited snapshots of others. Yet, we seldom see the real struggles behind those smiling faces.
Our relationship with food has become a battleground, filled with unrealistic expectations and restrictive diets. We obsess over portion control and daily weigh-ins, believing they hold the key to happiness. But these obsessions often harm us more than the occasional treat ever could.
We feel guilty about having that ‘little piece of cake one day’ instead of pondering over endless coffees on an empty stomach.
Moderation is the path to a wholesome, happier life. Let's give ourselves some time to adjust to what truly nourishes us.
Self-care isn't selfish. It's the key to a healthier, more content us. Let’s embrace a gentler journey filled with kindness for ourselves, not harsh judgments.
Sharing this beautiful piece with you, hope it makes your day Bright and lighter! Happy Diwali to everyone!
In shadows of comparison, we lose our grace,
Thinking poorly of self, we embrace a false face.
For years ago, we knew them, but not their life's art,
Remote glimpses can't unveil every heart.
Our eating habits shaped by a mirage so cruel,
Portion control, daily weight check, a relentless duel.
Obsessive and restrictive, the diets we endure,
But they harm us more than a sweet treat's allure.
Let's heal our relationship with food, so profound,
For it's not just about pounds, but the love we've found.
In a world that prioritizes the physical, it's true,
Emotional intelligence, our essence shines through.
In moderation, we find the path to our delight,
A gradual transition to wholesome, pure, and right.
Give yourself time, adjust to what's truly best,
In this journey to wellness, let self-care be the quest.
