Please welcome Jeevan to the Symmetrix Yaletown team!

Jeevan is a University of Victoria graduate with a BSc in Kinesiology (Honours) and a four-time Academic All-Canadian varsity soccer athlete ⚽️ With over 10 years in the health and performance field, he brings a strong blend of clinical knowledge, movement expertise, and coaching experience to his practice.

As a lifelong athlete and elite-level soccer coach, Jeevan understands how functional training, recovery, and mindset shape both performance and long-term well-being. He specializes in exercise rehabilitation focused on mobility, strength, stability, and movement mechanics, integrating techniques like fascial stretch therapy and soft tissue release to help clients move better, feel stronger, and stay resilient 💪

Jeevan believes true health comes from the mind–body connection. His goal is to create a supportive, motivating environment where clients feel challenged, confident, and empowered in their movement.

Please welcome Esther to the Symmetrix team! She is currently offering sessions at our Burnaby studio on Fridays and Saturdays.

Esther graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, specializing in Neuromechanical and Physiological Sciences. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, she brings a warm, approachable style to her work.

With 10+ years of experience as a street dancer, Esther has developed a deep appreciation for movement and physical health. She has extensive experience supporting ICBC clients through post-injury rehabilitation and enjoys working with active aging adults and individuals who are new to exercise, adapting her approach to meet each person’s unique needs.

Esther is passionate about helping people reach their goals and feel empowered throughout their health journey. She enjoys teaching clients about their bodies and strives to make fitness and rehabilitation accessible to everyone. Esther designs customized exercise programs focused on preventing injuries, improving mobility, and supporting long-term health. She values building trust and open communication during her sessions with clients.

Why does balance get harder, and what can you do about it?

A client recently mentioned she started gripping the handrail more on stairs. Nothing dramatic, just a quiet shift she'd noticed over the past year.

Here's what's actually happening: 🤔

Your body relies on three systems for balance. Vision, inner ear, and joint sensors all decline with age. Add in natural muscle loss (especially in our core and ankles) and slower reaction time, and you get a body that's less confident correcting itself when you stumble.

The good news: Balance is trainable! Simple daily exercises can rebuild what time takes away. 🙌
