The only thing that needs
To be fixed in you is the limiting belief there’s something to fix.
I’ve been a spiritual seeker and on a healing journey for well over 20 years. Along the way, I have engaged in many different modalities to FIX what’s wrong with me. I would constantly be working on a set of 12 steps, pondering daily about my limitations and character defects. I became highly focused on childhood trauma and what was wrong with me because of that. I’ve purchased and completed many self-help workbooks, went to many, many sessions of therapy, sought out hundreds of different ways to FIX what I perceived as wrong and to feel better.
The reality is I was unwell because I believed there was something wrong with me that needed to be fixed.
Paradoxically there is NOTHING wrong with my journey of FIXING, it is all PERFECTLY aligned with what it means to have a human experience and actually part of what led me to the ultimate realization. That there is NOTHING in me to FIX except the false and limiting belief that there is. Everything is perfect and everything that has happened in my life is perfect.
This gets tricky when we lean into the idea of healing. Are my wounds perfect? The answer is yes. Does that mean I leave them untended? No. I need to tend to my perfect wounds and take internal, intuitive guidance on exactly what to do when healing them.
Fixing the wounds implies they are wrong. Healing the wounds asks us to look at their perfection, cultivating tenderness and understanding towards them, and gratitude for their lessons. Healing them, to me, is allowing us to FEEL in our bodies the pain we’ve denied by intellectually forcing a FIX onto the wounds instead of blissfully allowing the process of feeling to heal to occur. Very little in our modern world allows space to feel the grandness of the human experience. We are taught to shut it down and move forward. From great joy to intense sorrow. We are taught to think about the way we feel, instead of feeling it without judgment. Thankfully, this landscape is changing and we are now at the forefront of a great movement awakening to the reality all is perfect and there’s nothing to fix except the belief there is.
