The va**na is self-cleaning. Your v***a just needs water, no “feminine washes,” wipes, or sprays. Yet it remains a multi-billion dollar industry.

The idea that v***as need special products is rooted in patriarchal marketing that profits off making women feel “unclean.” We don't see a special aisle for scrotal or fo****in cleansers...🤔

Healthy v***as have a natural scent and discharge. However, if there’s a change in odour, colour, or discomfort, it’s a reason to check in with a healthcare provider.

As I finally put away my pump, hat's off to all the parents pumping at work!

The ones setting calendar blocks called “meeting” so they can step away.
The ones packing coolers, pump parts, and extra shirts “just in case.”
The ones sitting in offices, cars, supply closets, or lactation rooms doing something that takes time, patience, and a lot of dedication.

It’s not always easy.
It’s not always convenient.
And it’s definitely not always talked about enough. Feeding you baby is a fulltime job and it's another layer to pump on top of that.

But every pump session is an act of care—for your baby and for the feeding journey you’re working so hard to maintain. You’re doing an incredible job.

A few important notes:
• It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
• It should be considered permanent (reversal is not guaranteed)
• It shifts the contraceptive burden to the partner with te**es

A win for breast cancer survivors and women's health ✨

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis by Beste et al. in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology found that low-dose va**nal estrogen therapy is safe for breast cancer survivors with genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), showing no increased risk of breast cancer recurrence or mortality. The study, covering 8 observational studies and over 24,000 patients, suggests that, local estrogen is not associated with recurrence, even for those on aromatase inhibitors.

GSM can include:
• Vulvova**nal dryness
• Irritation and reduced lubrication
• Urinary urgency
• Painful urination or in*******se

These symptoms are a result of a low-estrogen state and can have a significant physical and emotional burden in menopause and after cancer care.

This research offers reassuring data to support informed, individualized conversations about treatment options.

Very excited to share that we are offering REMS testing days at the clinic through . They use Echolight REMS ultrasound technology. It is a validated, radiation-free alternative that is FDA- and Health Canada-approved. BoneHealth BC's REMS report will provides a BMD, T-SCORE, Z-SCORE, and FRAGILITY SCORE (not provided in a DEXA scan).

In BC, the age of bone screening starts at age 65 unless there are other risk factor present. This is very late to start screening for many people as we lose valuable time to address early changes. Other countries like Japan recommend screening start at age 40 without any risk factors.

Iron supplementation has been around for...a good while 😉

There are many different forms of iron as it comes attached to different molecules like sulfate, gluconate, or bisglycinate. Each of these has a different molecular weight, so we can’t just look at the total weight of the compound to know how much usable iron it contains.

That’s why labels list elemental iron—the actual amount your body can use. Depending on the form, a single dose can range anywhere from 10–150 mg of elemental iron. Big range, right? 🤯

🤓 The tricky part: higher amounts aren’t always better. The form of iron, your digestion, lab results, and your individual needs matter just as much as the dose. Iron compatibility can be very personal.
