If you want to live a longer, healthier life you must consistently move! Walking is a great way to get started! 20 min is a starting point, aim for 10,000 steps a day at minimum!

How much water should you drink? Take your body weight and divide by 2 and that’s how many ounces you need to drink!

So if you are 160lbs you need 80oz minimum, keep in mind for every cup of caffeine you need an extra 2 cups of water.

Nearly every single person I test is below the minimum hydration percentage so chances are you are dehydrated too!

I’m on a plane again, just two weeks after arriving in Canada😬✈️Travelling is in my blood I think…this one is for business and pleasure! Going to visit the production facility for my non toxic skin care line and visit my daughter after a year of not seeing her in person! Life is good!❤️

“To eat when you are sick is to feed your illness” - Hippocrates

I’m sick in Canada again with a cold/flu. Somehow I can travel around the world for almost 2yrs and not get sick like this but it’s twice now when I come to Canada. I wonder if it’s the dry air of Alberta 🤔

Even though I just did a prolonged fast in February and usually am pretty good at sticking to an 18:6 or 20:4 intermittent fasting schedule I think it’s time to give Hippocrates theory a try.

After 5 days of fighting this “bug” while eating here and there I’ve decided I’m not going to feed this illness and going back on a prolonged fast until I feel better.

Why fasting?
Fasting brings your body into autophagy

“Autophagy allows your body to break down and reuse old cell parts so your cells can operate more efficiently. It's a natural cleaning out process that begins when your cells are stressed or deprived of nutrients. Researchers are studying autophagy's role in potentially preventing and fighting disease.”

I hope it doesn’t take me another 5 days of water fasting (and miss all the Easter festivities) but I need to travel again next week and I can’t get on a plane like this…wish me luck and let’s see if fasting is the key to kicking the cold/flu bug!

Now that’s a cabbage!! I never used to eat cabbage until I started eating more keto back in 2018 and I have to say it’s amazing!

I started following for cabbage recipes and some of my favourites are the Asian cabbage stirfry and the cheesy cabbage casserole.

When cabbage is cooked well it almost tastes like pasta noodles (in these recipes anyway)

Cabbage is AMAZING for your gut and heart health so give it a try. It’s not hard to cook, but do make sure you cook it on low and for awhile to make it easier to digest!

Do you read? I usually read nutrition books and have for “fun” for 25+years. I love them! But every once in a while it’s nice to escape with a romance novel. This is a vintage book from 1990 and it’s still good❤️and since the wifi and data are SO SO BAD here in Puerto Escondido and I can’t write very easily I’m going to read 📖

Even though I have a Kindle and love it it’s nice to read an actual book and every hotel should have one of those “take a book and leave a book” areas in the lobby! Such a great thing!

Vacations are so important to our mental health and I hope this “spring break” you get to take a break and relax! If not, try a staycation but just do something for you!

This beautiful, laid back hotel is in Puerto Escondido which is not somewhere you see a lot of Americans or Canadians. It’s still a rustic, authentic Mexican town that is just what I needed this week!

Even though I have been “traveling” for almost 2yrs now it’s not all fun and games. I have been working on a new online store/website, non toxic skin care line and writing a book series so it’s been “mentally” crazy busy and a bit exhausting…

This week I wanted to just get away to a remote area of Mexico (the flights were great from Las Vegas) and just chill, go on some tours, and unplug this week. The wifi and data is not the best here so it’s going to be easy not to work on my computer all day!

Next week and into April I’ll be hitting reality as I head to Alberta to launch our non toxic, skin and body care line so exciting things are coming soon!🙌

A rebounder trampoline is an inexpensive item every home should have. You can pick one up for about $100 and they do wonders for your lymphatic system.

Your lymphatic system needs physical activity to properly work. Walking, swimming, and jumping is something we should be doing ALL the time!

When I went for a detoxification retreat in Mexico back in 2016 we had one in our and were encouraged to jump for 5-10min every morning and evening. This facility advocates detoxification to help their patients heal so I think if this is one of the protocols they encourage than that is something I want to do on a daily basis too!

Jumping for 5-10 min is harder than it seems so I keep the rebounder in an area of the house that I walk by often and every time I walk by I get on it and jump. I jump 100 times which only takes a couple of minutes and do this at least 5x a day.

Jumping will help flush out toxins, but also enhances bone health, balance and coordination.

If you don’t suffer from joint issues, heart disorders or back pain then jumping might be something you want to look into!

I posted this is a reel but this post is easier to follow if you want to make these amazing brownies!

I just love brownies and it was my birthday this week so I made Salted Caramel Black Bean Brownies for the first time ever and WOW, they turned out amazing!

While not exactly sugar free, they are gluten free and high fiber and you will not taste any beans at all! They are heavenly and I guarantee you will LOVE them! It’s all about balance!

I’m housesitting in Reno on my 49th birthday and I haven’t been able to have a decent collagen shake in my 4 months in Asia so I was super excited to see find this at Whole Foods!

I want to feel healthy everyday and even though i “thought” I wanted pancakes for my birthday today because I never eat pancakes I’ve realized I don’t want to sabotage my health just because it’s my birthday. Once you form new habits and healthy choices you don’t really feel the need to “cheat” or sabotage your health.

Collagen is my new friend as I enter my last year of the 40’s so this will be a daily shake unless I’m water fasting.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies, especially type I collagen. It’s found in muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, tendons and the digestive system.

Collagen contains a whopping 18 different amino acids. Amino acids are the “building blocks of proteins,” and collagen includes a mix of both nonessential (also called conditional) and essential types. This is right from the Ancient Nutrition website that sells this shake! www. ancientnutrition.com

Collagen benefits include:

Better skin elasticity
Prevents bone loss
Boosts muscle mass
Helps joints
Strengthens hair and nails
Helps weight loss and metabolism
Helps the heart

Improving my skin’s health as I age is one of my goals so being consistent with shakes like this is key to making that goal happen!
