Being told to “strengthen your core” or “strengthen your lower back” is common when dealing with back pain, but strengthening too early can sometimes make the problem worse.

When the small joints in the lower back, called facet joints, are irritated or inflamed, the surrounding muscles often tighten to protect the area. This can create a cycle of inflammation, spasm, stiffness, and pain.

Adding aggressive strengthening exercises before that cycle has been calmed may further irritate the joints and delay healing.

The first step is often reducing inflammation, improving mobility, and helping the spine move properly again. Once the irritated tissue has settled, strengthening and stabilization exercises can be much more effective.

If your lower back pain keeps flaring up with exercise, it may be time to look at what is driving the pain before pushing harder.

Your recovery does not stop when you leave the clinic.

Chiropractic care works best when it is a true partnership between the care provided in-office and the steps you take at home. Staying consistent with appointments, following your prescribed exercises or stretches, and applying lifestyle recommendations can all play an important role in helping your body recover and stay well.

The most successful outcomes often happen when patients are active participants in their own care.

At our clinic, our goal is to support you with sound advice, effective treatment, and a plan that helps move you toward better health and wellness.

Exercise itself is rarely the true cause of pain. More often, it reveals underlying weaknesses, poor movement patterns, or areas of imbalance within the body.

Pain during or after activity can be a sign that your body needs better preparation, improved mechanics, or proper recovery—not that you should stop moving altogether.

Building strength, improving technique, supporting joint mobility, and using the right footwear or orthotics can help you stay active while reducing discomfort.

Exercise should make your body stronger, not leave you feeling broken down.

Headaches aren’t always coming from where you think.

If your pain starts at the base of your skull and travels to your temples or behind your eyes, your neck could be the real source. These are called cervicogenic headaches—and they’re often linked to posture, long hours at a desk, or unresolved neck tension.

The good news? When you address the root cause—joint restriction, muscle tightness, and inflammation—relief is possible.

This article breaks it down in plain terms:
✔️ What’s actually happening in your neck
✔️ Why these headaches develop over time
✔️ How chiropractic care helps treat and prevent them

If you’re dealing with recurring headaches, it may be time to look beyond your head.

Movement is medicine—and your spine plays a central role in how your body functions.

Chiropractic adjustments help restore joint mobility, reduce tension, and support your nervous system so your body can move and function the way it’s meant to.

When movement improves, so does everything else:
✔️ Less pain
✔️ Better coordination
✔️ Improved circulation
✔️ Enhanced recovery

The reality? When we stop moving, health declines.

If you want to stay active, mobile, and resilient as you age—prioritizing movement isn’t optional.

Let’s get you moving better.

Tight, sore glutes aren’t just a nuisance - they can be the hidden driver behind hip pain, SI joint dysfunction, and even chronic lower back issues.

Most people don’t realize how much prolonged sitting, poor posture, or repetitive activity can disrupt the balance of these critical stabilizing muscles.

If you’re dealing with deep aching in the buttocks, stiffness in your hips, or pain that radiates down your leg, your glutes may be the root cause—not just the symptom.

The good news? With the right diagnosis and a targeted, multi-layered treatment approach, you can restore proper movement, reduce pain, and prevent long-term joint damage.

Do the bottoms of your feet hurt when you walk or stand?

It may not just be “normal aging” or overuse — it could be plantar fat pad loss, a condition where the natural cushioning in your feet wears down over time.

When that protection fades, your bones and joints take on more stress… leading to inflammation, pain, and that feeling of “walking on bone.”

The good news? There are simple, effective ways to manage it — from proper footwear to custom orthotics.

Many people believe chronic lower back pain starts with a single injury. In reality, it often develops slowly from everyday habits.

Prolonged sitting, poor lifting mechanics, weak core muscles, poor sleep posture, and delaying proper evaluation can all place repeated stress on the spine over time.

The good news is that small changes in movement, posture, and daily habits can significantly reduce strain on your lower back and help prevent long-term discomfort.

Understanding what may be contributing to your back pain is the first step toward improving your spinal health.

Muscle is one of the most important — and most overlooked — predictors of long-term health.

While many people focus on weight or cardiovascular health, research shows that muscle mass and strength are strongly associated with longevity, metabolic health, and maintaining independence as we age.

Healthy muscle helps regulate blood sugar, supports brain health, protects joints, improves balance, and reduces the risk of injury and falls. It also plays a major role in how efficiently your body uses energy.

The encouraging news is that maintaining muscle does not require extreme routines. Simple habits such as regular strength training, staying active throughout the day, adequate protein intake, and good sleep can make a profound difference over time.

Your muscles are not just for movement — they are a key foundation for lifelong health.

Muscle mass and strength play a critical role in longevity, metabolic health, injury prevention, and brain function. Learn why maintaining muscle supports healthy aging.
