A quick update: another local business owner shared footage that appears to show the same individual, and it seems he may have been targeting other shops for some time.
We are currently working with the police on this matter.

Thankfully, our staff member had AppleCare, so the phone has been replaced. Unfortunately, this has created significant inconvenience for our staff member in having to update her personal information

As a small token of our gratitude, we’ve provided a $300 store credit to the individual who directly helped us identify and navigate the situation.

Without your shares, care, and support in spreading awareness, we wouldn’t have been able to identify the suspect this quickly through Instagram—thank you so much.

⚠️ Community Awareness – Yaletown Area ⚠️

Sometimes incidents can happen, but this one goes beyond a simple theft—we are sharing this for awareness due to the serious risk of identity and personal data theft.
On April 28, 2026 (Tuesday) around 3:00 PM at our Mainland location at Yaletown Wellness, a middle-aged Asian male was seen waiting outside before entering the clinic. He appeared to be briefly observing the space and waiting for an opportunity.
During a short moment when our front staff stepped away to assist in the back, he entered behind the reception desk and quickly took a staff member’s phone—even though two iPads were visibly nearby. He intentionally targeted the phone.
Shortly after, we realized this was not just a stolen device. The phone’s settings were rapidly altered, including restricting incoming and outgoing calls. The Apple ID and location tracking became inaccessible, and messages began being sent from the device.
This level of action suggests the individual may be experienced and acting with intent, specifically targeting phones for potential access to banking information, personal identity, and private data.
We truly value our Yaletown community and the people who work hard here every day. It is concerning to see someone present themselves professionally while carrying out this type of act.
The clinic is taking this matter seriously, including filing a police report and supporting our staff’s loss. We are sharing this to help raise awareness among our neighbours and encourage vigilance.
