Through the work I do in Awakening Body Wisdom, I awaken trust in the power of your body’s creative wisdom to unify body, mind and spirit with the Movement Healing Arts

Dance and Drama Therapy
Moving Prayer
Spiritual Direction

I am also a choreographer and Performing Artist. My artist goal is to integrate healing and spirituality with beauty so that all are moved to an embodied, yet transcendent understanding of love and compassion.

I have been reflecting on when healing and spirituality entered my performance work. An early example is Hanging Woman, created in 1982, the story of survival and triumph over r**e. The photo is from a Berlin newspaper ad for a Tanzfabric performance in 1985. Hanging Woman is on the right, Pink Pig on the upper left. She is a hermaphroditic Las Vegas club dancer, very happily in love.

I move through fall by yielding into my breath, and rest. I'm inspired by Rilke's words:
Leaves are falling, falling as if from afar,
as if, far off in the heavens, gardens were wilting.
And as they fall, their gestures say "its over."
In the night the heavy Earth is falling
from out of all the stars into loneliness.
We are all falling. This hand here is falling.
Just look: it is in all of us.
Yet there is one who holds this falling
with infinite tenderness in her hands.

Barbara Bickel and I are planning anew for our "Bearing Bloodlines: Ancestral Invocations" ritual performance. We are changing the shape of our original form and are now creating a video that integrates work done over the past few years with new components. Through conversations with our ancestors we are trusting this work will deepen our intentions of integrating art, healing and the sacred, to understand causes and effects of our ancestors’ actions as colonial settlers on Turtle Island.
Our Fundrazr will reopen after we update our cost of production with the most recent changes needed to complete our new art-video.
