Charlie sending holiday love to the Zili community, friends, and family 🐾💛

This year brought its share of turmoil and uncertainty, but it also reminded me that hope lives in small moments even when things feel hard.

Grateful for a year of collaboration, for the incredible patients, friends, organizations and leaders I had the privilege to work with, and for closing the year grounded in care, connection, and community.

As we rest and reflect, a gentle reminder:
• Be kind to yourself
• Set boundaries around your time and energy
• Create space for rest, without guilt
• Surround yourself with people who feed your soul

Practice the CARE formula daily:
C – Calm the mind
A – Activate the body
R – Reinforce the body
E – Engage your soul

Make small, intentional tweaks for 2026 so you can show up fully for your communities ✨

Looking forward to gathering with .community on April 21 for Beyond Wellness: Authenticity, Belonging & Care with Dr. Gabor Maté

Happy holidays ❤️DrZ

“How full is your cup when you walk in the door?”
This is one of my favourite parts of the video.
A simple check-in like “I’m at 10% tonight” helps your partner understand what you need—rest, support, or a bit of extra help.

Women often carry an invisible mental load—planning, remembering, organizing everything at home.
When partners acknowledge this and share the load, it can boost energy, connection, and calm for everyone.

✨ Full 9-minute video now available—link in bio, on YouTube, or here on Instagram.
Please let us know if this resonated and if you have other suggestions. 💬💛

✨ Self-awareness isn’t something you find — it’s a muscle you awaken. ✨

It’s the practice of seeing your thoughts without becoming them.
Of realizing you can be the observer, not the overwhelmed participant of your 60,000 thoughts a day.

And in that awareness… you begin to redesign your life — one honest breath at a time.

I’m still on this journey — still peeling back layers of “should,” still learning to befriend the truth.

If you take one thing from my story, let it be this:
Don’t wait until your body, mind, or soul screams for your attention.
Start listening now.

Because your truth isn’t your enemy —
it’s your invitation back home. 🌿

Grateful to and for the beautiful night celebrating Shift: 7 Mindsets for an Inspired Midlife — and for creating space for conversations that bring us home to ourselves. 💫

So I’ll leave you with this —
👉 What truth have you stopped running from lately?

I’ll be sharing the full talk soon once it’s available. 🙏💕

Yesterday I delivered my first session on perimenopause & menopause 💫 as faculty for , founded by the inspiring + 💕.

The need for this knowledge is so real. Despite the “menopause revolution” online, too many women are still left searching for clear, scientific, and holistic insights—without hidden agendas or products. Just real tools, real conversations, real support.

Honored to collaborate with and the team 🙏

Also if you can join us,
Excited for the Nov 5th lunch panel with Juggy and on menopause-inclusive workplaces, hosted by and presented by telushealth.

🧡 Truth & Reconciliation Day 🧡

Today, across Canada, we pause not for ceremony alone, but for conscience. It is a reckoning, a reminder, and a responsibility.

For generations, Indigenous children were taken from their homes, placed in residential schools, and stripped of their languages, cultures, and identities. Many never came home. The silence left behind is a wound of systemic trauma — one that will take more than words to heal.

As an immigrant, as a woman, and as a health care leader, I reflect on how these inequities still live within our systems today.

Indigenous healing teaches us to honor the whole person — body, mind, heart, and spirit. It also reminds us of the power of matriarchy, of centering care, equity, and community. In the conventional world, we have so much to learn, and true well-being cannot exist unless we weave this wisdom into our lives and our health care system.

For me, reconciliation means a daily commitment to truth, equity, and healing. 💛
What does it mean to you?

🧡

🌟 Honored to be recognized among the trailblazing women in B.C. across various industries! My drive for change stemmed from the pain and despair experienced by myself, my colleagues and all my patients—our patients deserve and continue to deserve better care.

In 2017, was born out of the need to empower patients beyond the health care system, fostering community and self-care through annual conferences.

Systemic change in health care remains crucial, and just three years ago, I nearly left family practice. This recognition is undoubtedly shared with the incredible leaders at , who have advanced family medicine by bringing back value to primary care collaborating with diverse organizations and negotiating the value of family doctors, making it my health leadership home.

Our journey is ongoing, but together, as a collective army of change-makers, we can usher in equity and transformation in our health care system and beyond. 💪💙 Thank you, , for this honor. For the community, don’t forget to grab this issue to explore the journeys of other amazing women of the year winners.

Love, DrZ

P.S. A little burnout is creeping in, so I’m taking the weekend to celebrating with pure joy and fun with all Canadian women in medicine at in Calgary. 🌸💕

Women’s Health: A call for Equity and Action
By Maryam Zeineddin (DrZ)

As we celebrate Women’s International Day, it is crucial to reflect on the state of women’s health—an issue that remains at the heart of gender equity worldwide. Michelle Obama once said, “Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.” Yet, despite this truth, women continue to face systemic barriers to healthcare that compromise their well-being.

The Reality of Women’s Health
Imagine a woman in your life—a mother, sister, friend, or even yourself—seeking medical help for a condition that uniquely affects women. She is struggling to find a doctor, waiting for answers that seem out of reach, and navigating a healthcare system that was not originally designed with her needs in mind. This is the daily reality for millions of women around the world.

Women’s health is not just about biology; it is a social determinant of health. Access to care is not equal, and factors such as income, location, ethnicity, and gender identity significantly impact a woman’s ability to receive medical attention. Indigenous women, immigrant women, those with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community often face even greater challenges. Equity—not equality—must be the guiding principle in healthcare.

To continue reading please see link in bio posted on our website 💕

There is an army of us educating and advocating for equity in women’s health, and we know that many women feel lost and unheard in our healthcare system. We see you, and we stand with you 🙏🏻

Happy International Woman’s Day 💕
