Optimal Whole Living - OWL At OWL, we help you and your body return to its natural state of balance and harmony.

Using consciousness based healing as the foundation for our coaching, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Dana and Kim are the co-creators and architects behind Optimal Whole Living (OWL), a name chosen to reflect the wisdom and multifaceted perspectives of healing and mysticism symbolized by the owl. With over 25 years of combined experience in health, wellness, fitness, and consciousness-based modalities, Dana and Kim are dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma, stress, and physical ailments. Dana specializes in mindfulness-based mind-body techniques, energy medicine, and quantum physics. Kim brings expertise in movement, nutrition, building biology (detox your home) and fitness. Together, they offer a comprehensive holistic approach designed to rebalance the nervous system, uncover soul-purpose work, achieve life balance, and cultivate joy. At OWL, our mission is to guide you towards an optimal life by integrating these diverse fields into a cohesive, supportive practice.

Jot down (or mentally note) your observations. Tracking over time helps you spot patterns—like afternoon slumps or Sunday-night jitters, so you can intervene earlier.

By noticing sensations in real time, we send a message to the brain: I am safe enough to observe what’s happening.

According to the Polyvagal Theory, simply naming our state engages the ventral vagal network, our pathway to calm, connection, and clear thinking.

You can’t choose the right tool (breathwork, movement, grounding) until you know where you’re starting from.

Check out our next post for some simple practices to increase awareness.

In times of anxiety, stress, or dysregulation, we might notice the body feels tense… sore… or even disconnected.

We may feel numb, guarded, or unfamiliar in our own skin.
It’s okay — this is a natural stress response.

And it’s also an invitation.
Reacquaint yourself with your body, as if greeting a long-lost friend.
With kindness. With curiosity. With compassion.

Feel the sensations that are here now…
Let your awareness rest here — not trying to fix or change anything… just noticing, just being.

See the link in our bio to learn more about how to reconnect with your body.

Close your eyes, and begin to witness the natural rhythm of your breath… as it effortlessly moves in… and out of your body.

There’s no need to change or control it.
Simply notice it.

This is your breath — constant, steady, and always here for you.

Did you know practicing gratitude can:

• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve sleep quality
• Enhance overall happiness
• Strengthen relationships
• Boost your immune system

When we focus on what we’re thankful for, we shift our mindset to abundance and positivity.

Gratitude helps regulate the nervous system, calming the mind and bringing clarity to our daily lives.

Start today: Write down 3 things you're grateful for. It’s a simple habit with powerful results.

What are YOU grateful for today?

Take a moment to feel grateful. It’s a simple but powerful way to support your well-being every day.
