This patient from New York, in his late 30s, first began noticing his hair thinning in his early 20s. When a close friend underwent a hair transplant with Dr. Hasson that he described as “spectacular”, the patient felt reassured and inspired to follow in his footsteps, ultimately trusting Dr. Hasson with his own case. His goal was to provide better framing of his face including appropriately advancing the temples. Dr. Hasson and his team used 5,000 grafts via FUE to restore the hairline and necessary areas of the frontal zone and mid-scalp while also advancing the temples. 3,000 grafts were extracted with FUE on day 1 of the procedure. 300 were single hair grafts, 2499 were double hair grafts and 201 were 3-4 hair grafts. 2,000 were harvested on the second day. 200 singles, 1651 doubles and 149 3-4’s.

* The first photo illustrates the proposed hairline and the areas targeted for restoration. In comparison, the after image, taken eight days post-op, shows the placement of the grafts with only minimal surface crust remaining. Even at this early stage, the cosmetically pleasing design and precise ex*****on of the transplant are clearly evident.
*The next photo sets show the result taking shape at 6.5 months post-op.
*The last photo is fully grown in at 12 months post-op.

This patient in his early 30s traveled from Newfoundland to undergo a hair transplant at Hasson and Wong to address extensive thinning in the frontal zone, mid-scalp, and crown. Dr. Sood and the team transplanted 3,000 grafts using the FUE extraction method to restore the hairline, frontal zone, and parts of the mid-scalp. They placed 300 single-hair grafts in the hairline, while the remaining 2,148 double-hair grafts and 552 grafts containing 3–4 hairs added density behind the hairline. A 0.85 mm motorized punch was used for extraction.

He was also using topical dutasteride to maintain and potentially improve his existing hair.

A follow up procedure was planned to enhance density and coverage in the remaining mid-scalp and crown. The second procedure was performed on the same day these photos were taken, 8 months after the first session. His hair will continue to improve and mature from this point onward with the result looking even better closer to the 1-year post-op mark

This local patient in his late 30’s sought out Hasson and Wong after conducting internet research and hearing about our reputation through word of mouth. He noticed hairline thinning as early as age 22 and wanted to restore the front to a reasonable degree without opting for anything too aggressive.

His donor hair was above average in both quality and quantity, providing ample supply to meet any potential future needs. His continued use of finasteride will reduce the likelihood of future thinning behind the transplanted areas. Given his moderate final hair loss pattern and any stability expected with medication, significant additional hair loss seems unlikely. Much of his projected loss has already occurred, and if he hasn’t yet reached his final hair loss pattern, he is very close. In this case, medication is more of an option than a necessity.

Dr. Hasson and team transplanted 2,500 grafts using the FUE method of extraction to rebuild the hairline and add density to the necessary areas of the frontal zone. 300 single-hair grafts placed at the front, with 1,752 double-hair grafts and 448 grafts containing 3–4 hairs used in the areas behind.

An 8.5 mm motorized punch was utilized, and both the extraction and insertion procedures went seamlessly. These photos were taken at the clinic one-year post-op.

wife of this local patient in his late 30’s knew about Hasson and Wong and encouraged him to pay us a visit. He started to be aware of his hair loss in his early to mid-30’s. While the loss was not significant, his areas of concern included both the hairline and the crown. Preventing further hair loss and perhaps improving some of the existing hair was also a goal. In addition to restoring a new hairline and adding density to the crown, Dr. Wong prescribed topical dutasteride from XYON health to prevent further loss and improve any existing miniaturized hair. A total of 2,343 grafts were transplanted. 108 of those grafts were single hair grafts,1324 were double hair grafts and 911 were 3-4 hair grafts. For the hairline/front, 1,443 grafts were required. All 108 singles were used in the hairline, 424 double hair grafts and 911 3-4 hair graft were also employed in the front. The remaining 900 double hair grafts were used in the crown. These photos were taken 9 months and 12 months post-op.

4,511 grafts were harvested to restore his frontal zone and necessary areas of the mid-scalp. 2,501 grafts were transplanted on day 1 to address most of the frontal zone. 300 single hair grafts, 1933 doubles and 268 3-4 hair grafts were used. On day 2, 2010 grafts were transplanted behind the work on day 1 and into the necessary areas of the mid-scalp. 1677 doubles and 333 3-4 hair grafts were required. A .85 mm punch was used for extraction. These photos were taken a little over 3 years post-op.

This Vancouver area patient in his early 40’s came to us based on a friend’s friend who had a great result at our clinic. Dr. Hasson and team transplanted a total of 5,225 grafts over 2 days using the FUE method of extraction to restore the necessary areas of the frontal zone and mid-scalp. On day one, 2,500 grafts were extracted of which 300 were single hair grafts, 1599 were doubles and 601 were 3-4 hair grafts. Day 2: 2205 doubles and 520 3-4 hair grafts. Medication was used to address the crown and it improved to a considerable degree.

This is a prime example of an effective strategy of restoring the frontal zone and mid-scalp to achieve the best cosmetic impact, while allowing medication to work on the crown. In this case, the patient began using topical finasteride and oral minoxidil at the time of the procedure. He can now decide if he is happy enough with the hair he has recovered in the crown or if he would like a smaller 2nd procedure to increase crown density. There is no question he is happy with the front and mid-scalp.

These photos were taken one-year post-op.

This Vancouver patient in his mid-40’s started noticing hair loss in his early 30’s. In his initial consultation at the clinic, he was deemed a good surgical candidate. The pandemic may have influenced his plans but after his first visit he came back a couple of times more to meet with Dr. Hasson and obtain additional information to help with his decision. By his 3rd visit, his hair loss was then to the point where he was ready to get something done. Initially, the frontal zone needed work but 4 years after that first visit, enough of the loss now extended into the mid scalp and the original 2,500 -3,000 grafts would not be sufficient. In order to properly restore the frontal zone and necessary areas of the mid-scalp, closer to 4,000 grafts would be required and FUE was the preferred method of extraction. Day 1 consisted of 2,013 grafts and day 2 required 2,024 for a total of 4,037. single hair grafts totaled 300, 2,711 were double hair grafts and 1,026 were 3-4 hair grafts. These photos were taken approximately 13 months post-op.

This patient in his early 30’s from Vancouver was looking to restore the area of loss in the front. His overall donor hair was slightly above average and in good supply. His crown was in good shape but with some early signs of thinning, Dr. Hasson recommended the use of medication to prevent further loss in the mid-scalp and crown. In addition to needing a reconstructed hairline and frontal zone, some of his mid-scalp also required restoration. Dr. Hasson and team transplanted a total of 4375 grafts using the FUE method of extraction. 300 of those grafts were single hair grafts, 3611 were doubles and 464 were 3-4 hair grafts. A .85mm size punch was used in the extraction process.
These photos were taken at the clinic just shy of 3 years post-op.
