Have you heard about the new app launched by ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County? The COPN app provides localized support for people at risk of overdose in Cuyahoga County.

The Cuyahoga Overdose Prevention Network (COPN) app is designed to keep drug users safe, by connecting them with a monitor, who stays on the line with them until they’re out of danger of overdosing.

Friendly reminder that there is NO COPN INFONIGHT TONIGHT!

Next drop-in session will be happening June 5th - please bring all of your questions then!

The Cuyahoga County Overdose Prevention Network (COPN) app needs volunteers to take overdose detection calls with people using alone.

Since local folk know local resources best, volunteers will be able to connect callers to local harm reduction, safer use, treatment, detox, and other critical resources in Cuyahoga County. All volunteer shifts take place on your own device and on your own timeline - no call center to go to!

If this sounds like a good volunteer fit for you, come to a virtual info night to learn more, or sign up for the online training and get started.

Brave Co-op

Brave is a multi-stakeholder cooperative based in Vancouver, BC dedicated to helping municipalities across North America combat the opioid epidemic and reduce harm in their communities. We are developing a suite of tools and technologies for safer supervised consumption of drugs and more effective community-response to overdoses. As a cooperative, Brave is owned and governed by its members, who include users of the technology, staff, and investors. We believe in meeting people where they are at and developing our products collaboratively with the people we are serving.

Brave connects people who use drugs to the help they need: an ally to talk to, a human supervisor to ensure they are safe, digital monitoring technology to detect when the individual is in danger, a community of volunteer overdose responders, and professional emergency first responders.

Brave is working on an app, a button system, and wearable technology that provide accessible supervision and effective response for people at risk of overdose. Use of these tools is completely anonymous and designed to support people who are unable to access physical safe consumption sites either due to distance or stigma associated with drug use. Real-time data collected through these platforms, stripped of all personally-identifying information, will be made open and available to the public.
