PLEASE CHECK THE Yoga Practice SCHEDULE AS I REGULARLY TEACH & SUB THERE. Yoga instruction by Yoga Alliance Certified RYT-200 teacher, Carol-Ann Gupta. Group classes, corporate yoga, and private instruction for adults, kids, or families. I teach power vinyasa (flow) yoga, where each movement is orchestrated with the breath, and we move dynamically between postures, or hold postures for maybe as long as 5-8 breaths. I teach in a room temperature studio, where we use our breath and bandhas (energy locks) to heat up our muscles in order to stretch. The other main style of yoga I teach is called Yin Yoga, which is more meditative (Yin, as opposed to Yang), and uses deep slow stretching to release myofascial connective tissue; these postures are typically held 10 breaths to 10 minutes! I also teach restorative yoga, which is a lovely antidote to stress, a great way to nurture oneself, and a therapeutic way to gently stretch after injury; we often use a variety of props, and hold the postures long enough to elicit a deep relaxation response. Please contact me for private or corporate class availability.

, the longest night of the year, and walking the of , I am feeling my grief, feeling the pain of loss, of letting go. Life isn't always what I want it to be.

I am trusting that, like the days becoming longer, letting go will eventually bring about transformation. I'm grateful for friends who help me find my joy even in times of darkness.

What are you ready to release? What is needing to be reborn for you?

Inspired to pull out the appropriate attire for an on this, my birthday,  morning, I looked into the mirror ... and I felt grateful. This suit has been well-loved and well lived in. It holds so many memories - of joy and grief and everything in between. No mothball smells, no big rips or stains, and of the marks I notice, I know the stories well.

When it was brand new I didn't question it, but after many comments, criticisms, expectations and comparisons, sometimes my birthday suit has felt old and unattractive and I'd rather bundle up than show it off. But now, I wear it for me - and love it for its unassuming practicality, its strength and flexibility, its resilience and its ability to heal. I also acknowledge that this suit carries privilege and responsibility.

After so many years, I like the way it looks better than I ever have, but more importantly, I love the way it feels to be fully in it.
