Shaping research with lived experience.

Through training, peer review, and collaboration with researchers, patient partners help make kidney research more relevant, accessible, and patient-centred across Canada.

Arlene Desjarlais and Dwight Sparkes are two patient partners contributing their lived experience to the Canadian Nephrology Trials Network (CNTN), where patient voices play an important role in shaping research.

Their experiences highlight the value of lived experience—and the important role patient partners play in strengthening studies and ensuring they reflect real-world priorities.

As this work continues to grow, CNTN is looking to engage more patient partners from across Canada.
