International Yoga Day it’s a reminder of unity for the world. To me, it’s also a way to realize how much I need this practice in my life and for my mental peace… It allows me to explore how my body, mind and heart are feeling. Thank you if you have ever shared yoga with me… And specifically today I haven’t been able to practice so it will be a relaxing yoga practice for today with so much going on in the world and all the news, it’s also important to find that space in our days to decompress and connect with our breath.

The most beautiful part about sharing yoga is people who you meet on the way. She is a student that has become more than a TEACHER to me. We’ve been sharing yoga for the past 7 years. She is a very strong and inspiring woman and has a lovely heart 💜 little I knew she used to teach group fitness classes for over 30 years and used to be a trainer herself as well. She loves challenges and it’s an honour to have her in our Vinyasa Yoga practice on Thursday’s! A very inclusive and compassionate space for yoga practitioners. See you in class next Thursday!

PRENATAL YOGA CLASS IS BACK! 🤰🏻 🧘🏽‍♀️ Come and join other moms to be! In this weekly prenatal yoga class you will connect with your baby and soothe your body, mind and spirit! This gentle yoga practice is suitable for all trimesters of pregnancy, offering safe yoga asana, intuitive movement and breath work + meditation techniques to prepare for labour and for a more conscious birthing experience. Lau is a mother of two, a Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher and a Certified Prenatal Fitness Instructor Specialist. Physician’s/midwife’s approval is required to participate in this class. Hola! Mi nombre es Lau. Bienvenida a tu clase Yoga Mamá y Bebé!

Esta clase es una forma nueva de nutrir el preciado vínculo entre tú y tu bebé, recuperarte y recargarte de energía, fuerza, flexibilidad y equilibrio de las exigencias de la maternidad. La clase consta de un flujo suave de posturas que compartirás con tu bebé, así como canciones divertidas, perfecta para tu cuerpo posparto y para tu bebé.
También conocerás nuevas mamás y bebés que están en la misma etapa que tú!

La clase es online en idioma español, y se lleva a cabo semanalmente cada Jueves de 9:30am a 10:30am (Zona Horaria del Pacífico).

Notas importantes:
* Tener de 4-8 semanas o más después del parto y con autorización médica.
* Bebé de 1-2 meses y hasta que gatea.
* Se utilizará un tapete de yoga, un cojín suave o almohada, tener juguetes a la mano que le gusten a tu bebé y una frazada/cobija para tu bebé.

Fechas programadas:
* Enero 9, 16, 23 y 30.
* Duración de 1 hora.
* Todos los Jueves de 9:30am 10:30am (PST: Zona Horaria del Pacífico)

Triangle pose is an asana that creates space in your torso and legs, it opens your heart and releases a lot of tension in the back, specially lower back. All your body is active, stretching and strengthening at the same time. It’s a beautiful pose to relive stress from sciatica pain and it increases circulation, energizing your body as well.
*Avoid if you have back injuries or high blood pressure.

If you want to try it, follow the next steps:

1. Stand with your feet about three to four feet apart.
2. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees and your left foot in about 45 degrees.
3. Align the right heel with the arch of your left foot. The position of the feet is important because it determines the alignment of the hips. You want your pelvis to be even.
4. Extend your arms out to the sides, parallel to the ground.
5. Inhale and as you exhale pull the right thigh bone into the socket and bend down to your right. Don’t let your hips move forward or back. Reach down and touch the floor, use a block if you need more support or challenge yourself and wrap your right fingers around your right big toe.
6. Stretch your left arm up so your hand is pointing straight up. Gaze up at your left hand, but if it’s too much for your neck you can always gaze down towards your toes.

“BE HERE, BE PRESENT, TAKE A BREATH AND ENJOY THE NOW”
Sometimes we wait for a year to end in order to come up with new resolutions for the following year. It’s a great idea, but even greater, is to take one day at a time and truly be in the present knowing that TODAY has been given to us. It’s important to have future plans without forgetting that TODAY is the most precious gift that could be used to be e better version of ourselves.
