Multiple cultures in neighborhoods making a community. We are inspired by the history and vibrant past and future that is the East side. We work with hive host homeowners and community gardens in various Vancouver neighborhoods to produce the most diverse multi-floral honey that can only come from here. Vancouver has multitude of amazing gardens full of flowers and vegetables. Flowering trees like

the Maple and Linden line our boulevards as well as all the fruit trees hidden in back yards.Bees thrive in an urban environment. There is always enough food for our bees and with the diversity of the pollen it makes for happy healthy bees. Our bees are never transported for pollination like country bees. Country bees often travel across the province or even across the country to pollinate various crops like canola, Sunflower or fruits like blueberries. Most beekeepers don’t have a say in if the crop gets sprayed with chemicals. While we can’t guarantee our honey to be organic it’s about as pure and raw as you’re going to get in Vancouver. We handle every frame of honey that gets put in a jar. East Van Bees honey is never heated or over filtered to remove the pollen that gives our honey its unique neighborhood flavor-hoods Unlike commercial honey that takes all the honey from the hives and mixes it together ,you will taste the flavors of each neighborhood and imagine what was blooming to provide the nectar that the bees collect to transform into what we know as honey. Unpopular opinion: You don’t need to buy anything for Mother's Day

It’s swarming season! 🐝
If you see a swirling cloud of honeybees this spring, don’t panic—it’s just nature at work.
​Why it happens:
When a hive gets too crowded and strong, the queen leaves with half her workers to start a new home. It’s the colony’s natural way of reproducing!
They leave a few cells called queen cells that will emerge to become the new queen of that hive.
​Pro Tip: They’re usually very docile when swarming since they have no hive to defend. If you spot one, give them space and call us or a local beekeeper to safely relocate them.

Leave it somewhere outside where you dont mind having the bees visit. Once they learn where it is they will tell all their friends and then it will be a party!

is looking for a part-time chandler (candle maker) for the warehouse in eastvan. Duties include candle making, as well as maintaining equipment, stock, and other boring monotonous tasks. Sorry, no beekeeping.

Self-starter, good working on their own, basic computer skills along with the ability to lift at least 20kg.

Super flexible with work shifts, but would be whole days, no weekends.

Pay determined by experience, none required but would be great.
