Bees on figs at a local market in Ljubljana
Slovenia is a true beekeeping nation 🐝🇸🇮 — home of the protected Carniolan honey bee, the only bee species allowed here. With nearly every village having its own beekeepers, honey and hive products are a big part of daily life, culture, and even art. Ljubljana celebrates this tradition through its “Bee Path,” a network of urban hives, gardens, and educational stops that show how deeply bees are woven into the city. It's all done. The last frame has been extracted, and now the bottling begins.
It's been a fun season with the bees.
I still love it, even though lifting things every day gets a bit tiring.

Pulling the last of the honey from and look at how yellow the wax is!
Honey looks super dark.

Have any guesses what the bees are collecting to make this bright yellow wax and dark honey?

It's hot out, so don't forget to leave out a water source for the bees. A bowl with some rocks in it so the bees don't drown is great. When it is hot, bees can use up to a liter of water to cool off the hive. Similar to humans sweating, they use the water by spreading droplets around the hive, which evaporate cooling it.

is looking for a part-time worker for the warehouse in eastvan. Duties include packing orders, labeling, bottling, candle making, and a whole bunch of boring monotonous tasks. Sorry, no beekeeping.

Self-starter, good working on their own, basic computer skills along with the ability to lift at least 20kg.

Super flexible with work shifts, but would be whole days, no weekends.
