With the school semester ending, study sessions become mandatory. So it is important you take breaks between them. As tempted as you are to doom scroll during breaks, it is detrimental and often causes us to lose track of time one scroll at a time. So swipe through the post to find out ways you can take a break— ones that do not consist of doom scrolling. Best of luck to everyone who has exams!!

What is UBC MHAC?

Overview

The UBC Mental Health Awareness Club (or UBC MHAC) is UBC’s largest mental health promotion club. Our goals are to promote and support positive mental health and to eliminate stigma towards mental illnesses. We work towards these goals by hosting a variety of events, and writing posts on our blog for anyone who may be interested in different perspectives on mental health!

Our Events

We host three main series of events throughout the school year: 1) Project Paws, 2) Speaker Series, and 3) ROAR. Through Project Paws, we bring trained therapy dogs directly to the UBC campus to help students de-stress, 10 to 12 times per school year. Besides Project Paws, our Events team also plans additional events to help likeminded students connect and relax, such as through Crafts Days and Open-mic events at the Nest.
