Sleep is ESSENTIAL for good health. Impaired or interrupted sleep doesn’t just cause fatigue, it has been shown to slow down your metabolism, stimulate appetite, weaken your immune system, impair memory and physical performance, can worsen disease, and accelerate aging.

I am hosting a free webinar on sleep on Friday 15th at noon called:
Sleep Better Feel Better – Why We Need Sleep and How to Improve it!

This webinar takes a deep dive into why we need sleep and how to improve it. We will cover numerous strategies on how to optimize your sleep and circadian rhythm, including daylight, food, caffeine, sleep timing, movement/exercise, temperature, sound, supplements, mouth breathing, EMF, essential oils, indoor lighting and much more. It will include how to create a sleep sanctuary and the best morning and bedtime routines for optimal sleep. We will also discuss what is your chronotype, light therapy and the benefits of wearing red glasses at night. All who attend will receive a sleep challenge handout .

If you want to join the webinar type 'Yes to better sleep!' below and I will send you the zoom link.
Hope to see you there!😊

Being in the mountains it is the highlight of my week. Below is another super snowy hike on Mount Seymour - Dog Mountain Trail. Unexpected fresh snowfall made it even more magical. I always like to hug a tree when I can because tree hugging good for us - yes, it really is!! Trees emit phytoncides which when inhaled or absorbed through the skin, boost immune cells that kill tumors and viral infections. Research shows there are real and long-term benefits of spending time in the forest and around trees including: reduced stress, improved immunity, lower blood pressure and faster recovery from illness or trauma. So, get outside, find some nature, and be a tree hugger like me!! :)

Snow season on the local mountains is here!
It fills me with joy, and I'm always blown away by the beauty of freshly snow-dusted trees and mountain tops. Every hike I do fills me with gratitude, since only a few years ago I was in chronic pain and could barely walk. I reversed these health issues with functional nutrition and lifestyle protocols that I use with my clients today.
This was on Mount Seymour last weekend.

The vagus nerve oversees a vast array of vital body functions, including control of mood, immune response, digestion, and heart rate. This review reports how the vagus nerve is intricately connected with anxiety, mood and immunity. It is one of the key connections between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract and sends information about the state of the inner organs to the brain. It suggests that stimulating the vagus nerve is a promising tool for treating psychiatric (refractory depression, posttraumatic stress disorder) and gastrointestinal disorders like inflammatory bowel disease. ”https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2018.00044/full
