Our Sxusem Soap suddenly became all kinds of popular and sold out suddenly. I cure each soap for 45 or more days. I purchase my soap berries from an elder in Lilwat, she harvests and jars the berries herself. My siblings and I grew up eating these whipped berries with sugar, a delectably tart treat!

Our beautiful Maria, only 32 years old, recently received unfortunate news that has left all of us heartbroken. After seeking medical care for persistent stomach pain, doctors discovered a mass in her colon that has unfortunately spread to her liver and lungs. While testing is still ongoing, her medical team strongly suspects cancer. She has been admitted to the hospital for further evaluation and will soon be under the care of the BC Cancer Society for the next steps in her treatment.

Maria is the kindest, sweetest soul you could ever meet. She’s a devoted mother, raising her two beautiful children as well as two children of her partner, Chanton. Her love knows no bounds. Maria has always been passionate about modeling, she poured her heart into it and built an incredible portfolio over the years! Maria is also a passionate entrepreneur who built her own dog grooming business from the ground up. Her connection with animals is something special, rooted in her genuine, nurturing spirit.

About us

Sisters Sage is Lynn and Melissa, two sisters from the Gitxaala, Nisgaa, and Metis Nations. Together we use our traditional knowledge and ingredients to create beautiful self care and wellness products. All of our handmade soaps are cold-processed and cured at least 6 weeks, Vegan, and palm oil free. Our Smokeless Smudge Spray was created as a convenient “refresher” as we were not allowed to burn our medicines in our basement suite. A popular item! The salves we created with our elders in mind, who would use these sacred ingredients for many ailments. Devils Club is near and dear to us!

Sisters Sage was started with a great need to change our life directions. Melissa was struggling with being pregnant and homeless; unable to find a home during the housing crisis, she felt a desperate need to start something that would be able to support her in all aspects of life. Lynn felt a desperate need to leave her toxic work environment and create something that encouraged her growth culturally, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

After a year of hard work, education, babies, moves, product testing, tears, fights, love, and successes.....Sisters Sage is so proud of how far we have come in our entrepreneur endeavors. To many years more!
