📣 Kate is back from her summer vacation!
Introducing Kate ✨
📚 Kate completed her in BSc in Physiotherapy in 1990 from Queen’s University and has been working in private practice and orthopaedics for 30 years. Kate has been a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Manipulative Physical Therapists since 1996. Kate is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC in the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine where she teaches the Masters of Physical Therapy and GCOMPT (Graduate Certificate in Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapy) students clinical skills in manual therapy and musculoskeletal assessment and treatment as well as Gender-Affirming Practice. She is a senior instructor within the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Division, where she provides continuing education to practicing physiotherapists in manual therapy, exercise prescription and clinical reasoning.
She has a special interest in manual therapy, rehabilitation following cancer treatment, exercise as medicine, and women’s health with a focus on pre- and postpartum care and bone health.
Kate’s approach to treatment focuses on helping clients regain safe and healthy movement strategies, facilitated by manual therapy, exercise and patient education. Kate has lived in the Main Street area for 20 years and loves working in such a dynamic community.
