🌿 I heard there were some cold winters up until the 60s. Imagine how cold it was wearing a modest wool (if you were lucky) coat. Everyone wasn't going about in fur coats, with fur hats. And the boots were basic too. 🌿

March is prime time for cool-season seeds, but the real secret is soil, not the calendar. 🌦️ If your soil is workable (not muddy) and temps are hovering around the 40s–60s, these crops can go straight in. Quick tips for better germination:
🥕 Carrots & beets: keep the top 1 inch of soil consistently damp until sprouted (they’re slow starters)
🌿 Cilantro & mustard greens: sow a small row every 2 weeks for steady harvests
🧅 Scallions: sprinkle thinly and keep weed-free early
🫛 Peas: give them a simple trellis now so you’re not wrestling vines later
🧊 Surprise cold snap? Toss on a light row cover or old sheet overnight

Coquitlam RCMP is warning the public following an uptick in distraction thefts associated to fake gold and jewelry. In these cases, victims reported being approached by two to three people in a vehicle and engaged in a conversation. In some cases, the victims noticed their jewelry was missing after a close interaction with one of the suspects. In other cases, victims advised the suspects tried to sell them jewelry.
