Traditional Hatha Yoga practice, with emphasis on therapeutic benefits of yoga on body, mind and spirit. I have been leading weekly classes, private classes, workshops and participating in conferences, in Vancouver and abroad for over 13 years. I have studied in India with: Yogasanacharaya S.R. Desikachar’s school (The Heart of Yoga), Swami Vivekananda Research Foundation, and the Art of Living Foundation. In addition I have studied in North America with the Dru Yoga – Life foundation, with numerous visiting yoga teachers. I also completed a 2-year Yoga Therapy program. I continue to attend conferences and workshops and am passionate about yoga and it gives me a great deal of joy in seeing transformation in my students. My primary interest is to share yoga’s therapeutic benefits with as many people as possible so that they can weave the therapeutic and restorative modalities of yoga into their daily lives with ease. Smaller class with personal attention, all levels welcome. Street parking available.

Greetings beautiful Yogi's,
Wishing you all a year filled with new beginnings, I hope 2025 will be a year of collective awakening, may we be guided by principles of, peace, Integrity, humility, kindness, love, compassion, Joy, and Awe.
I hope you all had a lovely holiday season with some restful moments of stillness to restore and relax.

It's been a while since we did the Chakra series, and it feels like an appropriate time for resetting and tapping into our Chakra System. The beauty of the Chakras is that it allows you to use your body's wisdom and tap into the subtle energies of each Chakra. We'll touch upon the attributes, the asanas or postures, and the sounds of the Chakras. The sound vibration can truly shift the state of mind when combined with the postures and breadth. I will continue to recommend adaptations of postures, as the practice of yoga is truly for everybody.

It's always my intention that by using therapeutic yoga principles in developing a practice with fluid strengthening yoga postures with an emphasis on breathing, deep relaxation, and insight into meditation that enable the body and the mind to transition into a place of Sukha, a beautiful state of ease, stillness, and joyfulness.

Dear Yogi's,
I Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful week, the longer days are approaching and we will soon have beautiful spring flowers and fragrance in the air. If all goes well we may just remain on daylight savings this year? The debate has certainly been going on for several years now.

I've really appreciated our connection on Zoom, thank you as many of you have given me great feedback. Our Next series will include aspects of transition from winter into spring and the adapting of the body to this change. We will continue towards a deeper understanding of each Asana (yoga postures) and its unique benefits, we'll explore many of the traditional Asanas with flowing movements, with a greater focus on pranayama (pranayama). We will also focus on deep relaxation in the body to replenish our nervous system. It's particularly important that we develop good practices for maintaining an equanimous state of being in these challenging times. Yoga philosophy along with its strong breathing practices helps us connect with our inner being.

It's always my intention that by using therapeutic yoga principles in developing a practice with fluid strengthening yoga postures with an emphasis on breathing, deep relaxation, insight into meditation that enable the body and the mind to transition into a place of Sukha, a beautiful state of ease, stillness, and joyfulness.

Dear Yogi's,
Hope you are finding ways to keep cool during this most unusual heatwave that we're experiencing in East/West coasts.
It's been lovely to see so many of you on Zoom. It's truly so heartwarming to see the resilience, in how we've adapted to changes and continue to do so on a day-by-day basis. Yoga philosophy at its essence teaches us to be in the present moment and experience that sense of flow in our lives no matter what we have to deal with.
Many of you have shared that practicing yoga from the comfort of your home has been great. Even on days when you are not feeling well, you choose to keep the video off and practice quietly to your comfort level. Another lovely benefit of Zoom has been that you can join this class from the East to the West coast of North America!

Om Shanti Yoga - Summer 2021 Yoga series:
In this series we will work with the elements: Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Space, as they relate to within your body and Asana (yoga poses). As an example, we will work with the squat pose, often referred to as Malasana. The squat is of the Earth element, we will be working with modifications that may not look like a squat at all, yet will allow everyone to feel the benefits and find their own squat. We will continue to work with specific Asanas, Pranayama in conjunction with the elements and relaxation techniques that work to rejuvenate and strengthen the spine.
An emphasis on feeling the organic movement of each of the Asanas, observing the sensations as you move, breathe, and let go of any tightness that you observe. We'll emphasize working with the neck, shoulders, and spine. An aligned spine encourages alignment of body, heart and mind.
Using therapeutic yoga principles in developing a practice with fluid strengthening yoga postures with an emphasis on breathing, deep relaxation, insight into meditation that enable the body and the mind to transition into a place of Sukha, a beautiful state of ease, stillness, and joyfulness.
