Farmers on 57th runs three programs in and on the grounds of George Pearson Centre, and in South Vancouver. George Pearson Centre is a Vancouver Coastal Health residence to 120 people living with disabilities. Our three main programs are:

The THERAPEUTIC GARDEN program includes...A weekly Garden Club for Pearson residents, which matches volunteers with resident gardeners to assist in planting, tending, harvestingWheelchair accessible gardens for Pearson residents family & staffCommunity plots for various groups including DIGA, the Disabled Gardeners Association, classes from the local Sir Wilfred Laurier Annex and Ideal Alternative high schoolA juicing project for residents with special diets

The GROWING EDEN project is where...Neighbourhood families with low income learn to grow and harvest their own foodFamilies receive weekly hands-on training and grow fruit and vegetables togetherAll supplies are provided and families take home an organic harvest box each week
The MARKET GARDEN and CSA is...A highly productive, organic flower and vegetable garden grown by experienced market gardenersA Community Supported Agriculture program, with 40 participating families picking up a weekly harvest box for 20 weeks, June-OctoberA learning space for neighbours, students, and volunteers about growing food, building soil, operating an urban farm and strengthening our local food system
