What is Individual Counselling?

Individual Counselling means working one-on-one with a professional counsellor or therapist (these mean the same thing!) to address whatever is getting in the way of vitality, safety and purpose. The work is about curiosity towards so called ‘symptoms’ (previously called ‘mental health issues’) learning to see them as clues towards what is missing from your life.

Counselling is like shining a bright light on areas that have been cloaked in darkness. Through careful attention we begin to see what what repetitive and limiting patterns are playing out in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Freedom and relief occur when you feel seen, heard and understood by a skilled and caring therapist. New possibilities emerge that remained invisible in the endless loops of your isolated thoughts.

One on one counselling to help you to transform a negative and critical way of seeing yourself into one that is more peaceful yet more motivated. ‘Warning signal’ feelings of depressed anxiety start to lower, instead giving you more childlike spontaneity to remember what you want from life and how to go about it.

You will interact with your individual counsellor in a warm and kind yet very intentional environment designed to improve your well-being and life quality in the individual counselling session.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 Members of our team of therapist has just completed their training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples! ✨

EFT is grounded in the well-validated understanding that the quality of our attachment relationships deeply impacts our overall well-being and happiness. When our key relationships feel insecure or distant, it’s natural to experience emotional distress and fall into cycles that makes us feel stuck.

EFT provides an invaluable roadmap to help individuals & couples, navigate their emotional struggles and create secure, fulfilling bonds.

By learning EFT, our therapists have gained not only professional skills and confidence but also the ability to facilitate profound transformations in their clients’ most cherished relationships.

Are you ready to embark on a journey towards deeper connection and emotional healing? Reach out to schedule your session with one of our EFT-trained therapists today!

The symbolic experiences of psychedelics are often hard to translate to the real world, and over time can fade until they become like a half-forgotten dream.

Psychedelic Integration refers to the therapy that happens after a trip. It describes the process of turning psychedelic journeys into meaningful life change that lasts long after the trip.

We consider it irresponsible and ill-advised to take transformational doses of psychedelics without a plan for integration.

The insights, behaviour changes and lifestyle shifts that happen after a trip are where most of the actual change happens.

If you are looking for support, our therapists are here to help you ground your trips into practical change!

Your issues are NOT your identity.

They do not mean you are broken or that there is something with you.
Quite the opposite, in fact, symptoms like anxiety, depression, anger...

are the side effects of overwhelm, fatigue, self-criticism, and adversity.

They are your body’s way of saying, “I need more care than I’m receiving.”

So, congratulations on learning to slow down and listen, if you need more support navigating the symptoms, book a free consultation with one of our therapist!

Is OCD Neurodivergent?

People often associate OCD with anxiety disorders or view it as a personality trait.

That’s why when people think about neurodiverse conditions such as, ADHD, bipolar disorder, autism, dyslexia, etc, they tend to come to mind. While it’s true that there are significant differences between these conditions and OCD, looking at them through the lens of neurodiversity reveals one commonality: differences in how the brain processes information in each condition.

How is OCD Neurodivergent?

OCD falls under the umbrella of neurodiversity because people with OCD think, process, and behave differently from what is considered normal or neurotypical. People with OCD are caught in an endless cycle of obsession and compulsive behaviours. These obsessions are recurring unwanted thoughts or ideas that cause intense distress.

They tend to engage in ritualistic and compulsive behaviours to ease discomfort, even if it gives temporary relief.

However, many individuals accept OCD as a part of their personality; for them, it represents who they are. This perception directly impacts the severity and shapes the appearance of OCD. People with OCD actively choose not to label themselves as neurodivergent.

Nevertheless, it is important to understand that being neurodivergent is a difference, not a deficit, and it doesn’t need to be cured.

Shame is a deep sense that our core being is inherently flawed. It exiles the very part of us that believes we are capable of change.

Working with a therapist like me, you will find a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere where you will be safe to explore your inner world, gaining clarity about how experiences from the past affect your life today.

Using the Internal Family Systems model, mindfulness and self-compassion, we will work together to heal those wounded parts that sometimes feel unsafe and want to isolate and hide. That feeling of profound loneliness can be lifted. Together we can bring back the colour to your life.

It Is Your Right To Thrive

Despite modern comfort, depression and anxiety are at an all time high. That’s not good news, is it? Yet neuroscience teaches that these conditions are side effects of invisible forces that have profound effects on our wellbeing. Old wounds, chronic stress, and thinking patterns that go like this:

“I’m letting others down.” “I’m such a burden.” “I should be doing so much more.”

“I’m always tired or getting sick again.” “I need too much from others.”

Or some of the classics: “I’m not good enough.” “I’m not worth it.” “I don’t deserve better.”
