PCOS just got renamed ✨

For too long, women have been told their symptoms are “just hormones” or handed a prescription with no real explanation. But PCOS — now being called PMOS, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome — is so much more than an o***y issue. It always has been but it’s finally reflected:

It’s insulin resistance. Blood sugar dysregulation. Chronic stress. Living in overdrive in a world that never asks us to slow down.

1 in 10 women of reproductive age are affected. 70% don’t even know they have it.

I’m seeing + hearing so often how quick we are to jump to fixes… especially when it comes to cortisol

but before adding another supplement, it’s worth asking what your body actually needs

because cortisol isn’t just something to “balance” - it’s a response to stress

and if your body is constantly in go-mode, no supplement will override that

sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is disconnect to reconnect

→ step into nature→ listen to the water→ take a break from constant input→ spend time out of cell service
→ slow downnn

these are signals of safety your body actually understands

Lately I’ve been intentionally bringing more play into my days, my weeks, my months.

I had a conversation recently about play + movement, and how as adults, we slowly start to lose it. Remember when you’d play outside until your parents called you in for dinner? Play dates. Running up to a friend at school and asking if they wanted to “play.”

Working with women, I’m realizing how much of that has been stripped from us as we got older. We traded play for exercise. Suddenly it needed a purpose. A goal. A calorie count.

But play when we were kids? It wasn’t for fitness. It was because we felt good doing it. It was for our souls. And the moment we attach “exercise” to it, it just feels different.

So I’ve been reclaiming it. These are some of my recent play days. 🤍

As a holistic nutritionist, I truly believe a lot of food sensitivities aren’t actually about the food. And.. not worth the investment.

They’re about a body that’s been carrying too much for too long. Mold exposure. Chronic stress. A gut that’s been inflamed and depleted. And the foods just become the thing we point to because they’re the easiest variable to see and control.

Remove the foods and feel a bit better? Yes. Because you’ve lightened the load. But the load is still there. And eventually the body finds a new way to show you.

This is why so many people do elimination diets, feel relief for a few months, and then slowly start reacting to things again. It’s not because they failed. It’s because the root cause never got addressed.

Your body isn’t being dramatic. It’s being really specific. We just have to learn how to listen to what it’s actually saying.

Turns out I wasn’t addressing the root cause

I remember having this conversation with some girlfriends a few years back on a hike, feeling so confused, helpless honestly.

Because I was doing all of the things
and still holding onto weight that I hadn’t before

and the wild part?
this was also the time I was actually starting to love myself and my body

this video is from almost a year ago…
and the ways my body has shifted since addressing my root cause — it’s wild

not from restriction
not from doing more

but from understanding what my body was actually asking for

if you’re ready to get to the root of your health
and understand what might be holding you back

then you’re in the right corner of this app 🤍
