Virginia Eckert, MEd Couns, Spiritual Director from the Haden Institute In addition, I have 30 years experience as a Teacher-Counselor in a Catholic high school. My current practice includes both counseling and spiritual direction.

My mission is to bring clarity to people’s life journey so they are empowered to make effective decisions and deepen their understanding of transformation and conversion. Prior to working in a Catholic setting, I was a Child and Family Counselor for the Ministry of Children and Families for seven years. I also spent three years as a teacher-counselor in an alternative school and held a position as a teacher in a remote Indigenous fishing village. I believe that God is present in our lives, inviting us on the journey to wholeness. It is important to cultivate our ability to hear His voice and allow ourselves not only to know Him but to be known by Him. This process is one of discernment; we become able to rest in Him and bring reality into focus.
