With Ritam of Your Life, my intent is to support you to find your way back into rhythm.
☀️If you are going to spend most of your waking hours outside of yourself, utilize it. Slow down, look around and learn from nature.
The Ritam of nature (laws of nature) that you can experience all around you are happening within you as well.

Take Dandelions and Bees for one.

❌We treat dandelions like pests. We call them w**ds and go out of our way to eliminate them from our presence. Spray, w**d digging tools, lawnmowers...but here are a few facts to consider.

💧Dandelions are amazing water drills. They send their roots deep, in search of water. Up to 8 feet! They then bring this water back to the surface.
(Look around Vancouver, we are already in water restrictions and if you hadn't noticed dandelions are proliferating everywhere. Huge ones!...mining for water)
🍃Their leaves are full of calcium, so if you leave them to die away back to the earth, all that calcium goes into the soil. Good for your yard or food garden.
🥗You can also eat the leaves (calcium along with other health giving properties), you can eat the roots, you can eat the flowers...all of it. There are studies being done to see if they can prevent or battle cancer.
(On a side note, my dads, trucker/farmer cousin who got stage 4 brain cancer in his 70's started eating them by the bag load. Went to Stage 2 and remained in good health for many years)

They surround us when they are needed and we push them away, and yet they keep trying, never taking offence, just hoping we accept them.

🐝Then there are the bees!!!
Dandelions are one of their best food sources! They need them to thrive and survive. They have a serious dearth of food sources these days and Dandelions are nutrition for them of the highest degree. I believe the pollen they collect from them is the food they also keep for winter (Feel free to correct me, I love learning more about bees)
🍒Bees, are the reason we continue to be fed by nature, I doubt there will ever be anything manmade that can match their brilliance.
If you spray your dandelions because they annoy you? You kill the bees, You pull them out because you want the perfect yard? You take their food and ...kill the bees.
Nature offers up the colours the bees need in the Spring, and those flowers have so much purpose.

☯️Now tie it all together. What we need keeps coming back to us.
There are always signals that something is wrong and like the water drilling dandelions outside us, something in us will appear hoping to return balance. When we ignore things too long, you will start to see an overabundance of signals.
We kill off the very things within us that are necessary and push away the things we are uncomfortable with (swatting at bees?) and in doing so leave ourselves disconnected from our best sources of life.
So, as much as we need to stop killing the flowers we find messy and the "insects" we fear maybe we also need to find the parts of us we keep trying to bury and let them thrive, while not pushing away the moments that ask us to be with the uncomfortable, because that discomfort is what will give us our power if we allow it and everything outside of us and inside of us will find a symbiotic rhythmic flow.

As Mother's Day gently arrives I would like to share this thought.

Spring is sliding away. Just a couple of short weeks ago the cherry trees were dressed in their finest and then the blossoms were soft released to the Earth to dress it in its finery.

This is the growing of women.
First we begin to grow, figuring out our limbs, waking up to the light. As we connect to our bodies, we are excited to dress ourselves and be seen in the world. Stepping out in our finery, wanting to be seen and known, then as we grow, stepping into the stage of mothering something into the world, women are more likely to step into a more embodied beauty. Still dressed in style, there is an awareness that it is also a more functional way of being that we can bear. Leaves for a tree to shade their young and house life. For us ways to play and move and show up in our power.....this will change again, when something rich and embracing is weighted by everything known and held until we are ready to let our finery be our steady centre, our wrinkled bark and sturdy arms that can hold so much weight and release what and whom we have nurtured into the flow of life.

Celebrate yourselves this weekend. We are all mothers of a kind.💚🦋🙏

UPDATE- Well hey, I heard from Donna Ashworth, this is not her poem. I have done some searching and can't find the author. If anyone knows I would love to share the name!!

I have been hearing so much the last few years from women I know and don't know that is begging for me to offer this beautiful poem from?????

🙏🦋💚
When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day.
An angel came by and asked, “Why spend so much time on her?"
The Lord answered, “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?
She must function in all kinds of situations.
She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time.
Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart.
She must do all this with only two hands.
She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.”
The angel was impressed, "Just two hands...impossible!
And this is the standard model?"
The angel came closer and touched the woman.
“But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft", said the Lord,
"But I have made her strong. You can't imagine what she can endure and overcome."
"Can she think?" The angel asked.
The Lord answered, "Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate."
The angel touched her cheeks.
"Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her."
"She is not leaking...it is a tear" the Lord corrected the angel.
"What's it for?" Asked the angel.
The Lord said, “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride."
This made a big impression on the angel,
"Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything. A woman is indeed marvellous!"
Lord said, “Indeed she is.
She has strength that amazes a man.
She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.
She holds happiness, love and opinions.
She smiles when she feels like screaming.
She sings when she feels like crying.
Cries when happy and laughs when afraid.
She fights for what she believes in.
Her love is unconditional.
Her heart is broken when a next-of-kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life."
The angel asked: "So she is a perfect being?"
The Lord replied, "No. She has just one drawback...she often forgets what she is worth.”

A gift to all mothers that I wrote on my way to see my own Mother on Mother's Day.
I chose to not be worrying about posting something then, but instead choose to be present and connected to Mom.
Now....there is time for sharing my heart outward. I hope you all had a moment to honour, celebrate or take a moment to remember anyone who ever shared the energy of mother with you. And if you were lucky enough to be a mother in some way to someone or many in this life, I hope you know what a gift you are.
