Feeling lower as the days get darker? You’re not alone.
Many people experience mood changes during fall and winter — sometimes known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The shorter days and lack of sunlight can impact sleep, energy, and motivation.
Common signs of SAD include:
😞 Feeling down or irritable most days
🥱 Low energy and trouble getting out of bed
🍞 Craving more carbs or comfort food
💭 Losing interest in things you usually enjoy
Here are a few small steps that can help:
🌞 Get outside every day, even for 15–20 minutes.
💡 Try a light therapy lamp in the morning.
🕰 Keep a steady sleep and wake routine.
🚶♀️ Move your body — a short walk or stretch counts.
💬 Reach out for support. Talking to a counsellor can really help.
You don’t have to just “get through” winter — small daily actions and the right support can make this season lighter and more manageable. 💛
